(15-20min. everyday) How to draw shapes (Mrs. GG video). After watching the video, draw and name 3D shapes including: (spheres, cones, cylinders, rectangular prisms, cubes, and triangular prisms). Listen to the song “3D Shapes That I Know ”. Then, “play I spy ” Take a walk outside and say “I spy a ….” (sphere, cone, cylinder, rectangular prism, cube, and triangular prism). Your child will respond with an object that is the shape. For example, “I spy a rectangular prism...” and your child responds “a brick” depending on the shape they find. Ask your caregiver to describe some attributes of 3D shapes found in your living space. The learner will identify which 3D shapes are flat or curved and what the shape is in the living space. As an example: Review three dimensional shapes with the book : Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes”. Create a picture using a sphere, cone, cylinder, rectangular prism, cube, and triangular prism. You can use more than one of each. For example: use a cone and sphere to make an ice cream. Problem solving: Mrs. Popkoff describes a three-dimensional figure. She says, “It is tall. It has two round faces. It rolls. It has a curved surface.” Which shape does Mrs. Popkof describe? Science Learners will understand how organisms depend on their environment and structures to survive.

Social Studies Learners will understand the concepts of goods and services.

Writing: Learners will develop forms of writing with an organized structure.

Watch a video on parts of the plants . Take a walk outside and ask your learner to observe and compare two live land plants: one tree and one plant. Write, draw and discuss how plants and trees are alike/different. Sentence stems for writing: The tree has….. The plant has….. I noticed…. I wonder….

Read the article on Goods and Services with Mrs. Popkoff. Can you think of other goods and services to fulfill your needs and wants? Write a list of goods and services or draw goods and services.

Read Where Do Plants and Animals Live? with Mrs. Popkoff What are some places we can find plants and animals living? Create a chart on paper to write responses. Example:

Or Create a story about where your favorite animal lives and what plants they may see. Be sure to include a beginning, middle and end.Ask your caregiver if your story had a beginning, middle and end.

Watch a video on goods and services. Discuss services that your family uses. Then, write about why these services are important. Share your writing with a caregiver. Use this sentence stem as support. A service my family uses is ___ . Services are important because ___. Or cut pictures from magazines of people performing a service in the home, school and community. Create a collage.What similarities or differences do you notice about the services performed in your collage? Discuss with a caregiver.

Read: What is a terrarium? With Mrs. Popkoff. After reading, make a terrarium of your own using materials found at home. Or pretend you are an insect or plant that lives in a terrarium. Write and draw about your adventures. Read your story with a caregiver.
