The River NileIn this presentation I will be talking about the
River Nile. The Nile is the longest river in the world and flow through nine different counties. I will be talking to you about fascinating facts about the Nile, how it flooded, features of it and also there will be a quiz at the end and lots more! I hope you enjoy!
Facts about the River Nile The River Nile is the LONGEST river in the
worldMost Egyptians lived near the Nile as it
provided water, food, transportation and excellent soil for growing food
It has a length of about 6,695 kilometres long
Its basin is HUGE it includes parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Sudan but mostly Egypt and more
The name Nile comes from the Greek “Neilos”, which means valley
Features of the River NileThe Nile can save peoples lives because it provides
foods such as fish, bread and beer. The fertile soil near the river Nile allowed the ancient Egyptians to grow wheat . The wheat could be made into beer or bread. The Egyptians didn't drink dirty water because in some parts of the river Nile the water was very clean to drink. Not just food came from the Nile but came from the trees. The trees provided fruits such as figs and grapes. For the wealthy ancient Egyptians they had coconuts and olives. As for the poorer ancient Egyptian families it seemed they had to exist on whatever they could find.

rain in the Ethiopian Mountains sent the water causing the banks of the River Nile in Egypt to overflow on the desert land
