Money raised from this opportunity will be used to cover the cost involved in sending our Christmas Boxes over- seas through the Samaritans charity. Chummy Bartlett Selected Stage 3 students have been invited to participate in the Chummy Bartlett shield this Friday 23rd September at Memorial Park. We have entered a boys AFL team, 2 girl’s netball teams and a mixed newcombe ball team. The Rovers Football club have advised that the canteen will be open on Chummy Barlett Day. They will have pies, hot dogs, sausage rolls and dim sims for sale. There will also be drinks and lollies available. A separate note outlining times and all details has been sent home with students today. Parent Survey All parents are invited to share their thoughts on our school via the Tell Them From Me survey which can be found online at http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/4t9wf The results of this survey, also being completed by teachers and students in years 4 to 6, will be used to help inform fu- ture school directions. Your support of the survey would be very much appreciated. The survey is open from now until October 14, 2016. Student Thoughts Students in years 4 to 6 will be invited to complete the se- cond snapshot of EPS via the Tell Them From Me student sur- vey during technology lessons this week. The first snapshot was completed in early term 2. Any parent not wishing their child to participate in this anonymous, online survey is asked to contact the school before their child's technology lesson. Production Survey Last week a survey was included in the newsletter regarding our Road to Rio production. As we plan future school events, parent and community feedback would be appreciated. End of Term A reminder to all parents and carers that this Friday is the last day of 3rd term. School will recommence for all stu- dents on Monday, 10th October, as there is no staff de- velopment day scheduled. Term 4 will conclude for the summer break on Friday 18th December, 2016. Riverina Athletics Carnival Last Friday, qualifying students from our school, represented the Deniliquin District at the Riverina athletics carnival in Albury. Many thanks to Mrs Young for training our athletes and for managing the team on the day. Congratulations to all students on their performances and best wishes to Annie Harvey, Tom Bradley, Izayah Gazzara, Jacksoon Muldoon- Leetham, Brock Redden and Jyah Lavars who have qualified to compete at the State athletics carnival scheduled for Oc- tober in Term 4. Friday proved to be a very successful day. The following athletes finished in the top 3 places, which is an amazing achievement. Footy Colours Friday For a gold coin donation, students in years K to 4 are invited

to wear the colours of their favourite footy team to school on Friday. Money raised from this opportunity will be used to

cover the cost involved in sending our Christmas Boxes over-seas through the Samaritans charity.

Canberra Excursion This week, all year 5 and 6 students were issued with the medical consent forms and permission notes for this trip,

scheduled for week 2 next term. It would be appreciated if these forms could be returned to school this week to

avoid the need to chase them after the school holidays.

Parents with any questions or concerns should contact the

class teacher or principal.

Altina Wildlife Park The excursion for K, Year 1 and Year 2 students will depart the school at 8:15 am this Thursday morning. Students

are reminded to include a packed lunch, recess, snacks and drinks for the day. This is a wonderful opportunity for our stu-

dents, providing an experience that will stimulate discussion,

classroom learning and happy memories.

The bus is scheduled to return around 6pm. This will be up-dated via the skoolbag app and Facebook if there is any varia-

tion on this.

Professional Learning On Wednesday, our school will host principals and executive

teachers from the Deniliquin network for professional develop-ment relating to PLAN and the monitoring of student progress

using this software. Our school has been utilising this system

this year, having already commenced our training and we are proud of our progress and being considered leaders in our

district.

High School Transition The Year 6 Aboriginal students transitioning to Deniliquin High

School will have their final session tomorrow from 10.50am. Travel will be coordinated through Intereach.

Outback Theatre for Young People As a part of a grant this group have been successful in obtain-

ing, our Year 5 students will today participate in a visual arts

project designed to whet the appetite for the bigger project in 2017. Photos and details will appear in our next newsletter.
