We gather 'round to celebrate On Independence Day Pay homage to our country As the children run and play. With barbecues and picnics And fireworks in the air The flag we own is proudly flown To show how much we care. The stars and stripes spell freedom She waves upon the breeze While bursts of colors can be seen Above the towering trees. This is all quite wonderful We revel in delight But God above in divine love Has brought this day to light. NGR Executive Board Meeting
July 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm
Items for the agenda are due July 1st. All reports must be submitted by July 12th. At the July meeting the proposed budget will be dis-cussed for NGR and the BSU. The agenda and proposed budget can be picked up on July 15th. This will give you time to review over it before the meeting.

To save costs the Missouri Prayerways will no longer be an insert in the Encourager. Copies will be made for each church that can be set out or more copies can be made at the church. You also can access the Prayerways at mobap-tist.org I also would encourage you to check out the E-Encourager online at northgrandriverbap-tist.com. You can sign up by emailing the office or calling Debbie. Your church may have a sign up list available in the foyer or the church office.
The NGR Mission’s Committee is planning a trip on July 29-31, 2016 to Lennox, Iowa. They are encour-aging anyone in the association to be a part of this ministry. You can contact Maeanne Browning for
more information. There will be a meeting on July 7th at 7:00 pm and July 25th at 7:30 pm.

Let’s praise God for the reason we celebrate the fourth of July. Also what a praise to see and hear Maerissa Knapp at the Ladies Program and Luncheon. Maerissa is teaching at a Christian school in Nairobi Kenya. We were blessed to hear her share how great God is and how faithful He has been to take care of her in an distant land. We were also blessed to see through a video how God is ministering through her to the people there. Thanks again to Maerissa, her grandparents and her sister for being with us. Shelly was on a medical missions trip to Haiti and unable to be with us. We have 2 other ladies from our group that are preparing for mission’s trip this summer.
Ladies there will be no Program and Luncheon in July and August. Information about the September program will be announced later. “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19

June 9-13, all four of our Summer Missionaries joined over 200 other college students from all over the country to partner with church planters throughout the metropolitan area of St. Louis in a missions project called “For St. Louis”. Each night church planter, Mark Sikma, preached convicting words from God’s Word, exhorting students to em-brace the challenge to boldly, with love, share Jesus’ story with hurting people. Our
team of 9 spent Friday working with church planter, Kenny Petty, helping his church family to clean and ready their renovated sanctuary for their 1st official worship service that weekend. Saturday we engaged in meeting people cultures world-wide, from Ethiopia to Vietnam and the Congo to Croatia. That night, at McDonalds, Trey was prompted by God to give to a homeless man of 25 yrs, Trey’s summer missions back-pack. Trey had noticed that the man was carrying everything he owned in the world in 2 plastic Walmart bags. Sunday our team worshiped with another church plant, Mid-Cities Church, located in a inner city strip-mall, and then from 3pm-9pm our college students very efficiently registered 2,025 messengers plus hundreds of guests for the Southern Baptist convention.
Monday, the last day, our students worked with “Church at the BEVO”, Andrew Hicks, and Oasis Inter-national, delivering furniture to displaced refugees from the Congo and Pakistan. In each home we were met with warm welcomes and deep gratitude for helping make their living environment just a little bit easier. At the end of delivering to the first family of 8, Melissa realized that their food supplies was very sparse. Since our team had been fed at Oasis International earlier, we were able to give the family our 9 sack lunches, provid-ing them with a supper meal.
The following are testimonies from some of our students: “This is just a summary of my experiences at #ForStl2016 … It was one of the best 5 days (June 9-13) of my life. I grew spiritually and socially. I learned a lot not only from the nightly sermons but also from the numerous hands-on activities I got to experience and the different places I visited. I met some wonderful people whom I wouldn't have otherwise met and gained friends. I am empowered to carry out all that I have learned with greater confidence, strength and social sup-port. God is awesome, and I am consistently amazed at His faithfulness and the snippets of His greater pur-pose for me which He so graciously reveals along the way. I am wiser because of it. I will live my life on mis-sion obeying the Great Commission and making better decisions. Thank you Jesus! By: Lincoln U student, Chevar Carr. Melissa Chisenwa, NCMC posted: “It was so rewarding & inspiring working for the Lord in For STL16...I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the summer & the many cool people I am going to meet �... #summermissions #blessed”. Andrew Hicks, pastor, said of our NCMC students: We had an amazing time yesterday serving across South City with the young men and women from North Central Missouri Col-lege BSU! From planned furniture deliveries, to unplanned conversational encounters, to persevering through the heat, to praying in the homes of new friends from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Pakistan, they were true and humble servants of the Most High God! Honored to have worked in the fields of the Father with them.
Continue to pray for our summer missionaries during the rest of this summer as 2 serve as leaders at Super Summer, and the other 2 serve as group leaders at Grand Oaks Youth Camp this week.

Alpha– We will have revival with Richard Green on August 10th - 14th at 7:00 pm nightly and 10:30 am Sunday. We will have an anniversary service Sunday at 1:30 pm. This is our 170th anniversary.
Edinburg– We are getting ready for VBS, as are many of the churches. We are having a weekend VBS, Submerged in fun and learning. The dates are July 22nd from 6:00-8:00 pm, July 23rd from 9:00
am-3:00 pm, July 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm. We hope to have a great turn out.
We have worked on our yearly calendar, budgets and new officers, so it has been a busy month for the church.
Our church had an empty table ceremony performed by the VFW of Trenton, on memorial Sunday. This was a very nice
way to help us remember those of the military who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and those who have
gone before us in our own families and are missed by their loved ones. Thanks to those who performed that special
event.
The annual fish fry had a terrific turnout of 59. Our next monthly event is the children’s church social, with homemade
ice cream and hot dogs on July 10th, and then looking forward to a spectacular VBS that month. Our new pastor is
heading up many wonderful ideas to promote growth in our church and to meet and greet the neighborhood. We are
also in prayer for our Youth camp at Grand Oaks this month. Our Sunday School is at 10:00 am and Church at 11:00
am. Sunday night services are at 6:00 pm with Wednesday Bible Study at 7:00 pm. Come join in if you don’t have a
church home.
Gallatin– The Keenagers will meet on Thursday, July 7th for their monthly noon luncheon.
Gallatin FBC VBS will be held July 10th-15th. We will kick off our Vacation Bible School with a workers luncheon Sun-day, July 10th after the morning worship, and VBS begins Sunday evening. Registration forms will be forward several weeks before VBS, with informational VBS Parent letter. Please drop your registration forms off at the church prior to July 10th if at all possible. If your child is not pre-registered, please come at 5:00 pm Sunday evening. There will be no meal served the first night of VBS (Sunday evening), however we will be serving snacks. An evening meals will be served Tuesday through Thursday for the children and workers from 5:30 to 5:50 pm. Family Night will be Friday eve-ning, and there will be a meal and festival. Also, the VBS children will also be sharing some of their songs during morn-ing worship on Sunday, July 17th
Princeton FBC- We welcome back Ty Berry and his wife Judy as our Interim Pastor. Please continue to pray for us as we seek God’s plan for our church.
We had youth to attend camp at Grand Oaks in June.
We will be having VBS on July 5th-8th from 5:30-8:00 pm. Our theme is “Submerged”.
Trenton FBC- Summertime ministries at First Baptist are in full swing now. Friday, July 1st at 6:00-8:00 pm will be a VBS Block party at the Gottman’s (Parsonage). Vacation Bible School will be July 10th-14th from 6:00-9:00 pm.
We will be having a two day soccer camp on July 21st-22nd. Need info? Contact Shawn at 359-3898.
The Brotherhood of our church led the morning worship service on Father’s Day. Alan Ferguson was the song leader and David Hogan was the speaker.
Our Canada mission team left on June 24th, to minister to the First Nation people in Grassy Narrows, Canada.
Our Nicaragua mission team will be a part of the Chillicothe team which will leave to go to Nicaragua July 9th-16th. They hosted a taco/nacho meal on June 26th to raise funds to help build a house there.
