I want to thank the churches who participated in the Jean and Nellie Osborn Associational Offering in May, and for those who committed to do so in June.

Please keep our Association in prayer as we deal with our financial challenges and the effects they have on the DOM position in the coming year.

Continue to give thanks in all things and for all things. Let’s stay in the middle of God’s will for His glory and the good of us all!

UUUUnited

The May 19th WMU associational meeting was called to order with many prayer request. Prayers were offered for the Babb’s, local missionaries, who are coming home in June. Also for Jean Osborn offering being taken this month in the association churches, Vacation Bible Schools and camps being held this summer and for Shelly Sims Haiti mission trip in June.

The main part of the meeting was used to plan next years program and to work on a budget for our mission pro-jects. We are still collecting broken and unused jewelry through June to send to a group in Daisey Missouri. We met them at Mission Celebration meeting in April. They make and sell jewelry and use the money for mission work in El Salvador. They use all kinds of jewelry and “repurpose” them into beautiful creations. Look through your jewelry box and bring any old beads, broken jewelry and unused jewelry. They take these and make amazing items for sale. Virginia Crumpacker gave the devotional from Acts 6:8 and Acts 7:59-60. Acts 6:8—Stephen, the man of full of faith and the Holy Spirit’s power did spectacular miracles among the people. Pray that we have that faith and power. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 16 at 10:30 am. Paul and Lori Babb will be sharing on their mission work. All are invited to attend for this special meeting and join our luncheon.

Three children were overheard bragging about their fathers. An investment coun-selor’s son said, “My father makes sixty dollars an hour just sitting at his desk.” A lawyer’s son replied, “My dad talks on the phone for thirty minutes and makes one hundred and twenty-five dollars.” The pastor’s son laughed, “That’s noth-ing! My father preaches for fifteen min-utes, and it takes four men to collect all the money!”

BSU @ NCMC

North Central this past year had approximately 1,800 student body, from 16 counties. 15% of this population came from Grundy Co. while 13% came from each Linn-Livingston and Harrison Baptist Associations, and the other 59% from around the world.

We also had about 30 students from the Kansas City metropolitan area, and approximately 20 from the St. Louis area. In the past 3 years, the BSU has seen 10 college student salvations linked to the ministry, and a heritage in 10 years of 14 students actively engaged in church leadership positions throughout the world. From 2005-2014 BSU has had 23 college students serve in summer missions for Missouri Baptist Convention, and will be assisting 5 college students this summer to be actively engaged in mission work this summer. Our Motto and mission statement for the 10 years I have served as campus missionary has been “Know Him-Make Him Known—Jesus!”. Making disciples among college students is that simple yet profound. Lead them to embrace Jesus as Savior and then teach them to live their lives On Mission for Him wherever He plants them. Please, pray with us. Ask God what your part is in this ministry, and then simply obey. He is Worthy to Receive the Rewards of His Sacrifice—Souls Diann Barnes Campus Missionary

Too often we put people where we have a need- when we really inspire spiritual growth when we place them where God works through them most often.

Medicine Valley– My wife and I recently toured the Creation Museum located in Northern Kentucky, and close to Cincinnati, Ohio. The two day tour vividly underscores the veracity of the biblical claims of Genesis that God created the universe in a brief period of time rather than gradually evolving by chance over a period of millions or billions of years. We were able to purchase and bring back some excellent materials to be used in our chil-dren and youth ministries, particularly the Celebration Station studies. We continue in prayer concerning the possibilities of a third area-wide revival in the Hum-phreys area. If we determine it is truly God’s will that such an evangelistic crusade be con-ducted, it would be next spring at the earliest to allow adequate time for development and for

prayer support. We continue to pray for additional financial support of the ministries of Medicine Valley Community Ministry, while thanking God for the prayers and financial support we presently receive. Our booth at “Dusty Attic” in Jamesport held its own through the winter months. A small profit margin in April enabled us to transfer a hundred dollars to the General Fund. These funds through the summer and fall will assist in offsetting the nonfood costs of the food pantry. Any contributions of old doors, windows, barn siding, interior trim, old furniture (even scarred and broken) old tools, dishes and etc. will be greatly appreciated. Again, many thanks to all who through their prayers, time, talent, financial gifts and hands-on ministry, give help and encouragement in support of this “mission in your own backyard”. Trenton FBC- The Ra‘s, GA’s and Mission Friends will continue to meet all summer on Sunday evening at 5:00 pm.

FBC Crafty Ladies- Crafty Ladies meet at the First Baptist Church in Trenton each Monday from 1 pm – 3 pm. Our purpose is to provide a welcoming environment for women to come together, not only to do crafts, but to have a time of fellowship, along with a time for devotion and prayer. Although we occasionally assist other groups, members primarily work on individual projects at their own pace. One of the biggest benefits of this group is the input given by our more experienced members when we are working on something we have never done before. Most of us have several projects going on at the same time. Whether it be crocheting prayer shawls, looming hats, scarves, socks, or knitting baby sweaters, making fleece throws or cutting out patterns for a granddaughter's dress, we feel that we are using a gift that God has blessed us with. Although we occasionally make items for our own use, we usually share with someone in need in our community. Members have also made items for the Christmas Shoeboxes, and for the Helping Hands mission project and have also assisted the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary make fleece throws for the infusion room. Anyone who wishes to join us, is always welcome. Since the front doors of the church are usually locked, come in the door on the south of the church building. Go past the office, turn right and follow the sound of voices and laughter.
