Our Corporate History

In 2007, Mishkumi Technologies Inc. (Mishkumi) wasfounded as corporation and accredited as a ProcurementStrategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB), with a focus onproviding the Government of Canada (GoC) with ITSolutions and Services to enable their digital transformationacross diverse departments.

In 2015, various Federal Government procurement vehicleshad been accredited including: Task-Based InformaticsProfessional Services (TBIPS), Solutions and Task-BasedProfessional Services (SBIPS), Task and Solutions BasedSolution Services (TSPS), Pro-Services, National MasterStanding Offer (NMSO), Audio/Video Standing Offer (AVSO),Closed-Circuit Television Standing Offer (CCTVSO).

Martin Reniere, a successful entrepreneur in software,telecommunication and engineering services, acquiredMishkumi and had a vision to develop complementarybusiness units to address the upcoming market demand ofthe 4th Industrial Revolution.

Mishkumi is presently working towards establishing aDepartment Individual Standing Offers (DISO) procurementvehicle for GoC which is expecting to play a major role inthe migration to cloud-based information systems and isstarting to expand it’s customer base to include Fortune 500companies.

In 2017, Mishkumi engaged in research and development(R&D) in two vertical markets, IoT and Cleantech – two keyareas addressing our Aging Population, National Securityand Global Warming.

Additionally, Nuvoola was spun-out to address the growingneeds of application demanding Artificial Intelligence (AI),Cognitive, Internet of Things (IoT), and FinTech (Blockchain& Ðapps).

Martin Reniere, President & CEOIn 1996, he has started his career as an entrepreneur and founded Minacom Labs which focused on developing IntellectualProperty (IP) in the telecommunication Industry. His company was acquired by Tektronix in 2006 for USD 27 M. Over the last 23years, he has worked in senior executive positions for various technology companies including AIMIA, Dynatrace, Compuware,Mediaxoft and Tektronix. Additionally, he designed, planned and delivered multi-million-dollar global projects (product andservices) on-time and on-budget to more than 100 Fortune 500 companies. He will be responsible for providing leadership toensure a continuous focus on developing Intellectual Property (IP) for the next 5 years with the objectives of getting acquired bya Fortune 500 company like GE, SIEMENS of ABB.

Roland Serhal, Director, Procurement and Sales

Over the last 15 years of his professional career has been working as a Sales Engineer focused on Procurement, Business Development and Account Management. He has worked in various positions for Technology companies such as CommVault, Sierra Systems, Kanatek Technologies, Eclipsys Solutions. As part of the executive management team, his leadership will be focused on developing a IoT line of business for the Government of Canada (GoC), hiring an external Business Development Representative an start focusing on new markets including Large Private Corporations (LPC) such as Fortune 500 companies in Canada.

Dennis Martel, Director, Business Development and Professional Services

Over the last 30 years of his professional career he has been involved with all aspects of delivering solutions to both theCanadian and U.S Federal Governments. He has had the opportunity to work on a global scale with solution providersincluding Sun Microsystems, Unisys, Attachmate and Simware. His focus is on growing the Professional Services line ofbusiness. He is considered a subject matter expert on Federal Government Procurement and engages clients daily to helpthem manage the procurement process.

Dr. Francois Bergeron He is an expert in molecular biology and Professor at Cégep de Trois-Rivières. He will be using bio-reactors to carry out research in identifying and establishing protocol for our biological species. Then he will focus on genetic modification biological species to maximize the energy and power density of the our bio-energy storage solutions.

Dr. Ravi Prakash He is an expert on micro & nanofabrication of integrated microsystems for non-invasive health monitoring, biological and chemical sensing, point-of-care health and environmental monitoring applications. He is an Assistant professor at Carleton University, heading the OSD Lab, and he is involved in the development the bio-supercapacitor has will be working to develop Biochips and Bio-Supercapacitors.

Dr. Siziwe BebeShe is an expert in polymer kinetics, nano-technology, chemistry and has worked as a Director of the Polymer Science & Bio-medical Institute at the Science and Industrial R&D Center in Zimbabowe, and collaborated with Queen’s University, University of Sydney, University of Zimbabwe. She will be working on manipulation of molecular & chemical compounds to maximize the energy storage capacity of our bioenergy solutions.

Dr. Andre Arnold He is an expert in product development and in high performance flexible & rigid composites, integrating microelectronics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology, and wearable and mobile supercapacitors. He has worked in collaboration with McGill University, Royal Military College, Polytechnique Montreal. Concordia University and Carleton University.

Dr. Nomusa Mngoma She is a clinical research scientist and adjunct associate professor at Queen’s University with a background in kinesiology and rehabilitation. She will focus on researching clinical evidence to correlate biomarkers with various physiological, mental and cognitive health and resilience. He focus will be to develop Biochips and the analysis and optimization of human performance.

Sam Dubé, MD, PhD, CSCS, He is an expert in human strength & performance and sports & exercise physician. He will monitor ambulatory data collection and help to establish correlations between multiple physiological systems, including interactions between cardiovascular, immune, neurological, and psychiatric biomarkers, measurements, and behaviours. He will ensure meaningful data collection, and assist with relevant interpretation of partial data sets. These studies & protocols could extend to traumatic brain injury, anxiety/depression, infectious disease, and both chronic & acute illnesses in general.

Dr. Burak KantariHe is an expert in networking, cloud and edge computing and currently an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Ottawa. He will focus on developing algorithms for Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) and leading the design strategy for Biochip wireless communications.

Dr. Claude D’AmoursHe is an expert in telecommunications and he has is currently the Director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Ottawa. He performs research in physical layer technologies for 5G wireless communication systems, focusing on modulation, coding and multiple access techniques as well as signal processing algorithms for wireless communication systems. He will be developing our Real Time Location System (RTLS) for Indoor Positioning Application.

Gerry Briggs, BSc, Eng. B, He is a micro-electronics and electromagnetic expert and currently holds 25 issued patents in electronics controller design, including 2 for industrial venture RuggedReel and has work on the development of supercapacitors. Over his career he has worked for Government of Canada (GoC) and is skillset he has honed into profitable enterprises in sectors ranging from Film and Television to Military applications. He will be an internal consultant for IoT and Cleantech developments.
