Love Offering and Reception for
After almost 30 years of serving our congregation through the providing of meals for
our Wednesday night suppers and other special events, Joanne has chosen to retire from that
responsibility on June 15th. To honor her many faithful years of service as our caterer, the
church will hold a reception following the worship service on June 25th in the fellowship hall.
From Sunday June 4th through Sunday June 18th, we will be collecting a love offering
to honor Joanne’s service. If you would like to give to the love offering, you can offer either
cash or check. Please make checks out to Hampton Baptist Church and indicate “for Joanne
Barbour love offering” in the memo line. If you provide cash, please place it in an envelope
and indicate on the envelope “for Joanne Barbour’s Love Offering.” The love offering can be
placed in the basket during worship or given to the church office during the week.
Please join us as we as honor Joanne’s dedicated service on Sunday, June 25th.

Congratulations Will & Jennifer
We are down to our last 2 weeks of our school year lunch program at
SAME. On June 19th we will be having our end of the year picnic with
complete with inflatables for the children and an ice cream bar for
dessert. PLEASE join us in this celebration! Continuing into the
summer, we will be starting bag lunches on June 26th from Noon to
12:30pm and are still looking for volunteers. This is a great time to
get your children involved in the ministry of SAME (To create an
interfaith community by addressing nutritional and physical needs with
our neighbors who are homeless or living in poverty so we might
together experience the fullness of God's love and grace.).
Contact Amy (757.508.1772) if you are interested in helping this summer.
We are excited to continue our clothing ministry this summer, however
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We currently have plenty of winter clothing,
but are in low supply of clothing appropriate for the warm weather of
summer. Please bring your donations to the clothing closet housed in
the Rachel's old office off the Jones Fellowship Hall and leave a note
with your name and phone number. Dee is also in need of a secondary
person to come on Mondays and learn the ropes so that we have 2 people
that can run the closet. Please contact him directly if you are interested.
The Mobile Food Pantry is on the 2nd Monday of each month and we are
always in need of volunteers. There are multiple ways to help and you
don't need to be able to lift heavy boxes to volunteer. Our neighbors
are very appreciative of this program and it is a wonderful way to get
to know the folks of SAME. Please sign up on the SAME group page:
http://signup.com/go/ztELZn or contact Amy.
