OBJBy the end of the semester, students should: Be able to write with high accuracy (grammatically

correct, with accurate punctuation, conjunctions, and appropriate vocabulary);

Be able to write a range of basic genres: postcards, descriptions, informal and formal letters, procedurals;

Be aware of the differences between spoken and written, formal and informal language;

Be accustomed to the process of writing; and Be able to edit their own writing pieces.

Have developed their autonomy in the writing process, i.e. be able to plan, write, and revise their own work as well as giving feedback to their peers.

including review, critique, summary and report; Become familiar with thesis writing- its key features and

skills; Developed their skills of planning, drafting, revising,

editing their own writing and giving feedback to others’ writing pieces.

Enhanced their background knowledge and critical thinking; and

Been more familiar with the format of IELTS test- writing component.
