All planning aside, the event would be nothing without the comradery and fun en- joyed from everyone being in attendance. For next week, we will be hosting our Engineering Encounters Bridge Design Contest. If you have time and would like to assist, please contact one of the branch officers or visit the contest page on our website. For our monthly meeting on May 19 th , please make the time to join us and support our fellow members for the presentation of this year’s an- nual awards recipients. As you may have read in a recent email, we are again putting together the biennially scheduled training. For this year and the new require- ments, the Ethics, Law and Rules session will be provided locally. Mul- tiple providers are being contacted to evaluate what they can bring to us as well as the cost associated. After evaluation of the best benefit for our branch, additional information will be provided. Also don’t forget the opportunities being provided by the Florida Section in their hosted events. EDUCATION CORNER The Sun Coast branch is introducing a new section

to our newsletter. This section will focus on

providing valuable information to our members

related to continuing education, opportunities for

PDH credits, and information related to upcoming

PE exams.

2016 Doubleheader Announcement

The Florida Section ASCE is hosting the final

of three doubleheader events this month at

FDOT Turnpike Enterprise (Orlando) for 8

hours of professional development credit.
