City Council present were: Gruendemann, Heibel, Kokesch, and Scharfencamp. Staff Dept. Heads present were: Kokesch and Pederson. Guests present were: S. Palmer, M. Gehrke, S. Olson, R. Peichel. 1) Regular Meeng called to order, roll call showing Sherman absent, recited Pledge of Allegiance and Oaths of Office. 2) Approved the minutes 12/12/16. 3) Consent Agenda: Approved Bills (see below) and Financial Report; 2 Unpaid Ulity Accounts approved for disconnec- on per city policy; no new zoning permits issued; approved the 2017 City Council Meeng Schedule. 4) No cizens requested to be addressed. 5) Novel Energy Soluons presentaon on Made In MN Solar Incenve Loery Program, approved applicaon submial. 6) Approved Resoluon 2017-1: Official Designaons and Annual Appointments. 7) Approved Resoluon 2017-2: 2016 Contribuons, totaling $16,626.98. 8) Dept. Heads reported. Kokesch: Snow removal is going well, ice has been an issue, may put skids on snow plow; clean up of downed branches will have to wait unl spring; working with engineer has improved water quality; received va- caon approval; heated storage is working well. With the continued cold temperatures, water lines have the potential to freeze. Please check your line periodi-cally. You may also want to check the temperature of the water. If it is 40 degrees F. or lower, you may want to run a trickle to keep it from freezing completely.

There have been reports of thefts within the city. Please lock your homes and cars and report any suspicious

activity to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office at 320-523-1121. The Franklin City Council has implemented Administrative penalties for city ordinance violations. Parking re-

lated violation fines are $25, all other ordinance violation fines are $50. Cars parked on the streets during snow emergencies will be ticketed. Catfish Days is always in need of people to help. If you would be interested in helping in any way, please contact Corey Gruendemann at 507-240-0981. Anyone interested is asked to please come to the Pre-Catfish Days planning meeting on January 24th at 7:00 at the Community Center with your ideas and suggestions.

EMT’s and EMR’s. There is an EMR Initial Class beginning January 18, 2017 in Redwood Falls. The class will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings through March 8th. This is a 50 hour course. If interested, please contact Bill Wiese, 507-829-3953 or Beth McCorquodale at 507-430-1378.
