New Meditation Class to Begin Brad Smith is certified to teach meditation by the Shambhava School of Yoga. He will introduce an embodied style of meditation that includes very gentle and accessible movements, done seated in a chair or standing, to enliven and relax the body and progressive breathing exercises to settle the mind. The meditation techniques will be simple, including breath awareness, mantra, and visualization that build to form a multi-layered practice to help you experience the joy of being here and now. Absolute beginners and those experienced with meditation are welcome! The class will be held in room #201 on the following Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. October 15, & 29, November 12 & 26, and December 10. Theme Table Decorators Needed Hey, we need some help with decorators for our theme table dinner. You can be as creative as you want to be. We have had zombie tables, political tables, holiday tables, the choices are wide open. The actual dinner will be November 10th. We set for 6 to 8 people at each table. You can have a round or 8 foot table. Please let Brian Sutton know if you would like to decorate a table. [email protected] or call him at 316.683.4643 or just sign up in the office. Final M & M Bucket Sunday This coming Sunday, October 7, will be the final M&M Bucket Sunday. Our children will be collecting donations for our Mission Sharing opportunities which gives monies to many Methodist outreach programs and agencies. Thanks for all donations and to the children, who have helped with this endeavor

CHUM PRIDE 2018 What a fabulous day! Over 50 CHUMites gathered to walk in the Pride Parade this year. We decorated the van, decorated each other and handed out CHUM Sunglasses and Frisbees to the crowd along the route, both of which were a big hit for the parade goers. Pride this year was a big success, so big that they actually ran out of Pride buttons for the festival. Thank you, College Hill for your love and support. #whereloveislove

AGAPE, Rm. 201 - It was nice to see our travelers back in the group again! We viewed and discussed "Being a Roman Christian". Kind of a "Don't ask, don't tell" situation. Start thinking about future class topics/series/books. Wiebe's treat next.

BUILDERS, Rm. 305 - We are studying a new DVD series entitled “Chuck

Knows Church” which is a fun collection of all things about church. Please keep Charlie, Nori, Mark McKee, Janis Meredith, George, and the family of Deputy Kunze in your prayers.

CHILDREN, Children’s Center - Sunday, we will not have Sunday School

classes since it is the first Sunday of the month which is Family Worship. We will be back in our classes on Sunday, October 7th. Bibles will be given to our 3rd graders in both services and a sandwich lunch will follow the 10:15am service for the families of the children receiving their Bibles.

COMMUNICATORS, Rm. 301 - We will continue our study of Miracles

with Donna Caywood leading on Sunday. Calendars: meet at Chum on Tuesday, October 9 at 4:30pm to carve pumpkins and enjoy a baked potato bar, October 14 Meet and Greet, and November 16 Thanksgiving dinner at Deuser’s. Prayers: Donna’s cousin, Linda, and sisters, Janice and Marilyn. Next devotions Pat Lipper.

CONTEMPORARY STUDIES, Rm. B5/7 - Finished up September with

twenty-two enjoying cookies from this weekend's Richard D. Greene Memorial Lecture Series. Happy Birthday this week to Carl Martin. Keith Williamson reviewed our chapter on "Finding Our Type". Tabletalk focused on how we fit into the Triads. Sunday, "Type Eight: The Challenger".

DOUBLE CIRCLE, Rm. B4 - We continue our study on Genesis 2: 8-17

and 22-24. Think back over your life or perhaps just the last couple of days...how have you experienced the consequences of sin, of things you did or said or facile to do or say that you knew were not consistent with God’s will? Why are we so quick to blame others for our sinfulness? Think back to a time when you did just that!

TRAVELING COMPANIONS, Bride’s Room B14 @ 11:15 am - Join us

for discussion on spiritual development and personal growth. VICEROY, Rm. B3 - We continue with Point of Power, by Dr. Paul

Hasselbeck. We talked about the spiritual power, of seeing the divine spark in other people, and how hard it is to "Love your Enemy" in the last week.
