Wednesday Evening Supper Join us for goulash on Wednesday, November 7, prepared by Sharon Peters. The meal will be served from 5:45 - 6:15pm in the Parlor. Join us for a bite to eat before attending your class or activity or before going home! All CHUM Chew n Chat activities and classes will resume on November 7th. Our final supper will be served by the CHUM youth and children on November 14th. They will be serving pizza and dessert. Christmas in Old Town Greetings all, we have a wonderful opportunity coming up December 8. We will be setting up a Canopy and Table in Old Town and handing out Hot Cocoa, Cookies and Info cards about our Christmas Eve services. We need your help. Join us in having some fun and celebrating the spirit of Christmas. We would like at least 6 people each hour to hang out, have fun and hand out cocoa and cookies. We want this to be a fun, joyous afternoon. So, Saturday, December 8, from 1-5 p.m. we would like for people to sign up to help for an hour or two. If you are available, please let Brian know. Come find your Joy this Christmas. Meditation Class Brad Smith is certified to teach meditation by the Shambhava School of Yoga. Absolute beginners and those experienced with meditation are welcome! The class will be held in room #201 on the following Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. There are only 3 dates remaining: November 12 & 26, and December 10.

We want to thank CHUM for all the warm hugs and words of support we have received in support of our family with the passing of Janet's mother, Vera Schesser. ~Don & Janet Shepherd Many thanks for all the prayers, cards, calls and well wishes of concern after my recent knee surgery. All were uplifting and brought smiles and warmth in a very stressful time for me. Recovering is a slow process. Faith Sisters’ Book Club Carri Siebenmark is hosting book club on Sunday, November 11, at 11:30am in the Parlor. We will discuss The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah. We would enjoy having more ladies take part in our book club - come join us!

December Illuminations Crawl Monday, December 3, we will gather for an evening of holiday fun and enjoy the beauty of Botanica’s Illuminations. For $18.00, you will enter the private gate into Lotus Hall, have a sandwich box supper, adult drinks, and unlimited time in the gardens. The sign up sheets are ready in the church office. You will need to choose from ham, turkey or veggie sandwiches. You will also need to make your $18.00 payment when you sign up. If paying by check, please make it out to Patty Ruzich or you are free to pay cash! You will NOT be given a ticket. You will enter through a private entrance and check in at the door to Lotus Hall. You will NOT be able to go through the main entrance where tickets are required. We will have the gate open by 5:00pm and Patty will greet you at the gate. We have access to Lotus Hall and the gardens until 8:30pm. Hope to see you there!

AGAPE, Rm. 201 - Class talked about the discipline of exercising our spiritu-ality, lead by Brent. No class next week. We'll see everyone on the 18th when the Papineau's bring treats.

BUILDERS, Rm. 305 - We continue our study on “Chuck Knows Church.”

Keep Charlie, Nori, George, Mark McKee, and Carol McKee in our prayers. See you Saturday at the youth fundraiser, A Place at the Table.

CHILDREN, Children’s Center - During November our Pre-school class

and K- 2nd graders are studying symbols of faith. Our focus this week will be on art. The 3rd-5th graders need to remember to bring your Bibles this week as we continue to use them while learning more about the Bible and how to use it. The older kids will also work on the Christmas Pageant and ALL children will end the day with choir practice.

COMMUNICATORS, Rm. 301 - Thank you Jim Graves for once again

leading our class discussion on the book by Adam Hamilton “Unafraid.” Reminder: Mark class calendars for November 16 for class Thanksgiving dinner with the Deuser’s at 6:00pm. Bring donation items for the CHUM Blessings Box. Prayer Requests: Marilyn Bean on her transition and all unspoken prayers John Brewer has devotions next.

CONTEMPORARY STUDIES, Rm. B5/7 - Kicked off November after

"Falling Back" with eighteen, including Carol Shepherd's, Jazmine! Happy Birthday Wishes sent to Nancy Hinman, and Get Well Wishes sent to her husband, Clint. Keith Williamson reviewed this week's chapter on "The Performer." Tabletalk focused on who we know as a Type Three and how this personality is enjoyable, or frustrating. Sunday, Type Four: The Romantic.

DOUBLE CIRCLE, Rm. B4 - 13 present in class this past Sunday. The

lesson was from Genesis 25: 19 - 34. Bob opened the class welcoming Dr. Brake and Nancy back from their trip. Betty furnished treats. Bob Rogers would like everyone to know his phone number has changed and he would really enjoy hearing from everyone at (316) 491 - 2426.

A New 4 Week Book Study has begun on Monday, November 5, at 7:00pm. Join at any point! It will be held at the home of Brian Sutton located at 551 N. Terrace Dr. It will go along with the new sermon series that begins November 11th. Purchase the book, Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks by Diana Butler Bass, in whatever format you wish. Please let Brian Sutton know that you plan to attend this study so he will know how many to count on. The next meeting dates are November 12 at 7:00pm, November 18 @ 2:00pm and the final meeting on November 26 @ 7:00pm.
