Please email me at: [email protected] The Year 7 Boys Basket Ball Team won their game against Hampton Academy this week, with Leon Byrne scoring the golden basket after the team drew 10-10 at the end of the 4th Quarter. Congratulations. Our 6th Form Boys 5-a-side Football team played well in their matches against Grey Court & RPA. They won Pool A and then drew 3-3 against a strong RPA team in the play-off final. Bin it. Kill it.’ Public Health have launched the ‘Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.’ campaign to encourage the public to adopt hygiene practices. The campaign urges people to carry tissues and use them to catch coughs or sneezes, then to bin the tissues and to kill the germs by washing hands. Kingston University Progression Conference Kingston University Progression Conference Eight Year 9s spent Monday at the Kingston Hill Campus at Kingston University attending a one day conference. The theme of the day was progression from option choices in year 9 through to GCSEs, possible A levels or BTEC, and then university degrees. During the day our pupils met a range of undergraduate ambassadors and were able to ask them about all aspects of studying for a degree, what sort of careers they are planning, what life as a student is like, what it costs and how to balance studying and having fun. They also had a brief tour of the Kingston Campus, which includes a hospital ward where the nursing undergraduates study, and a mock up law court. Inspiration and Insight day at Credit Suisse Inspiration and Insight day at Credit Suisse Inspiration and Insight day at Credit Suisse Earlier this week three sixth formers had the chance to peek behind the scenes at Credit Suisse, the investment bank based at Cabot Square in the heart of Canary Wharf. The key note speaker was Marisa Drew, Managing Director of the Investment Banking Division, who has worked in investment banking for over 28 years and in 2013 was recognised by the BBC as one of the most powerful women in Britain. Following her talk, our students were able to meet many of the young graduates and interns employed by Credit Suisse and get tips and advice on transition from school to university, and then the working world. Our visit included a tour of the building including the 18 th floor which has been refurbished to provide an ultra modern office environment. The offices have the added benefit of the most wonderful views across the city of London and beyond. This day was our first involvement with Artemis, a networking organisation for women, who ran the event and, based on yesterday's experience, we will do more.
