CH2M HILL Public Works Director
The challenge? To provide a range of custom-tailored
municipal/government operations and maintenancesolutions. Our
Public Works Director job ensures that the clients mission, council
direction and core
values are incorporated into operational activities and
services. Each day you will oversee watertreatment and public works
services including collections, distribution, lift stations, meter
reading, parks
and grounds, drainage, household and green brush collection,
vehicle/fleet maintenance and mosquitocontrol. You should be a self
motivated Civil Engineer with previous experience directing
highly
complex Public Works department and programs and a desire to
grow personally and professionally witheach public works
project.
OurPublic Works Director:
Leads a staff of approximately 90 professional, technical and
administrative staff to fulfill the missionof providing a
full-range of facility operations and maintenance, and capital
project services
Meets all contractual and regulatory requirements for the
program Researches new technologies and trends and recommends the
implementation of programs and
equipment to help the department achieve its objectives more
efficiently
Implement asset management program that includes preventive,
predictive and correctivemaintenance, capital improvements, and
planning
Responsible for maintaining the operation process control
including compliance with regulatoryagencies
Directs the development and administration of a large, complex
project budget and financial plan Provides primary client
relationship with client, elected officials and technical
personnelBasic Qualifications
Bachelors degree Civil Engineering (BSCE) required At least 3
years supervisory or management experience. Expertise with one of
Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) Prior experience
developing and elevating a comprehensive asset management plan for
facilities and
other assets
Demonstrated record of accomplishment and innovation in capital
planning Strong leadership and diplomacy skills with the ability to
develop effective collaborative, workingrelationships and
partnerships with city/county officials, citizen advocacy groups
and commissions. Comfortable with regular public speaking
engagements in front of elected and appointed officials as
well as civic leaders.
Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable

Experience leading a highly efficient and progressive public
works projects or departments O&M consulting experience is a
plus Demonstrated history of balancing long-term policy work while
maintaining an awareness of the
impact of the ongoing work of the department (i.e., public
perception, City/County Board interest,progress of critical capital
projects, attention to customers and key players, etc.)
Passion for data and analysis Strong record of achievement
managing infrastructure, capital projects, public works projects
and
facilities program management including operations and
maintenance for a large number of facilities
