We endeavour to deliver learning right up until the last few days of school. To minimise disruption we have asked students not to bring in Christmas cards until the last week of school and then we can fully embrace the festive season. Thank you for your understanding. We are beginning the process of placing students in classes for 2019. If parents have any concerns or requests, please see me before the end of the year. We spend a lot of time and effort completing this procedure and once it is finalised at the very end of the year, it is very difficult and disrupting to change class placements next year. All classes and teachers will be announced at the beginning of next year as circumstances can change over the holidays. Year 6 Burrendong excursion is next Wednesday to Friday. All notes and money is due by the end of this week – don’t forget to fill in the online form! Please be at school by 8.50am ready to leave at 9am. This is Year 6s last outing at our school. As usual, we expect exemplary behaviour and I’m sure they will all continue in to represent our school as well as all the other Year 6s from previous years. I look forward to visiting and hearing all about it. Swim School continues this week. Due to the cold, wet day last Wednesday we will be having a catch up day next Monday 10th Dec. Thank you to everyone for making sure your child has their swimming gear and money for these lessons. Students are NOT required to pay twice on Fridays for sport. Entry into the pool covers them all day. Once swim school finishes it is essential students continue to go to the pool to consolidate what they have learnt, otherwise they will forget these skills. Looking forward to the P&C dinner tonight! Have a great week! Mutual Expectations At Canowindra Public School we are very proud of our Student Assistance Scheme we offer. We have many families submitting applications each year and we try to help as many as we can. It is also important to develop a culture of mutual respect and allow families to give back to the School as well. As a result of this mutual respect we have introduced a new and improved Student Assistance Program called “Mutual Expectations”. When families require assistance, we will try to fulfil their request and in return we ask parents to give back to us. Some examples of what “mutual expectation” looks like includes giving some of your time or skills to our school and we are open to many and varied forms of assistance. We look forward to working with you.

Student IllnessA friendly reminder to all parents/ carers to keep your children home from school if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms: temperature, fever, rash, excessive coughing, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. These are all indicators that your child is unwell and can be contagious which will spread the bacteria or virus to other students and teachers. Thank you for your understanding.

Class in Focus: Year 3/4

When Year 3/4 were learning about healthy eating and procedures we decided to host a makeshift Subway in our classroom for lunch. Students all contributed different items such as bread, salad items and spreads such as butter and mayonnaise . Students thoroughly enjoyed making colourful lunches with the large variety of options that were available. It was so pleasing to see so many students willingly

trying new foods.
