Dear Parishioners,
In todays world, there is a whole lot of skepticism and cynicism,
but not a lot of trust. We are told, or pushed, to only follow our-
selves (our own thoughts, opinions, dreams, etc.). Trusting is a
difficult thing to do. Further, trusting in God is almost non-
existent. Yet, if we are to grow in our discipleship, we must trust
in God. As I said on Ash Wednesday, we are NOT God and with-
out Him we are nothing. Abraham knew that he needed God.
That is why he trusted in His command, even to the point of giv-
ing his son, Issac. The Apostles had to trust in Jesus when he was
transfigured. We must place our own thoughts aside this Lent
and create space in our lives for trusting in God. Without Him,
we are nothing.
God bless,
Fr. Davis
