KJSCE and other Somaiya Colleges attended the same.

BOSLA-KJSCE Seminar on Internet of Things and Research Communications

A seminar was organized by KJSCE Library and Bombay Science Librarian’s Association on

Internet of Things and Research Communication. Shri. V Ranganathan, Hon. Secretary and Chief

Advisor to the K. J. Somaiya Trust was Chief Guest of the event. Dr. G. Ravi Kumar Head, Scientific

Information Resource Division, BARC, Mumbai and Dr. Muthaya Koganuramath, Prof. & Head

Centre for Library & Information Science, Central University of Gujarat were Guest of Honour.

Dr. Medha Joshi Ex. Head, Dept. of Library Science, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai gave the

Key Note address on SMART Libraries. Other technical sessions were IoT in Libraries by Dr.

Sindhu Singh, Professor SIMSR, Mendeley by Dr. Shubhra Dutta, Elsevier and Mobile Applications by

Mr. Nitin Singh, Asian Paints. More than 80 Librarians attended the seminar and made it a

successful event.

Celebrated of special days : -

National Youth Day

The 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India's

most revered spiritual leaders, is celebrated National Youth Day.

The objective behind the government's move was to imbibe the

students and youth with the philosophy and ideals of the Swamiji,

the man who brought a change in the thought process of the

youth. Library organized a display of his pictures, thoughts and

information.

International Women’s Day 8\03\2017

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating

the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Woman’s Day was first observed in 1909 in the United States and it

is only in 1977 that the United Nations officially declared

International Women’s Day celebration on March 8. Library has

organized a display of pictures, thoughts and information about

Great Indian Women personalities.

Marathi Bhasha Diwas

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated to mark the Birth Anniversary of Marathi laureate

and famous poet V. V. Shirwadkar popularly known as Kusumagraj’ who was a

‘Gyanpeeth ‘award winner. Library had celebrated programme on 27th February 2017 in the

presence of Principal, Vice Principal, faculty and staff participated which included Marathi

poems, briefing about Marathi Bhasha Diwas.
