Eartraining:Proper vocal technique, including pitch matching, singing pitch names while fingering the notes, singing solfege patterns in movable “do”, singing appropriate articulations(MACF - 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 2.1-2.7)
Sightreading:Be able to sightread an 8 measure exercise, song, or musical phrase according to the Grade 5 Literacy and Expression standards.(MACF - 2.1-2.4, 2.6, 2.7, 2.9)
Tuning:Understand how to use a tuner and adjust instrument accordingly, hum a given pitch and match pitch on instrument(MACF - 3.7)
Eartraining:Audibly differentiate the difference between a half and whole step as well as major and minor keys.(MACF – 2.6, 5.1, 5.8, 5.9)
