Guy Gravett photographed his first opera, Mozart’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ in 1951 and took on the official role of house photographer in 1955. His meticulous work, both on and off stage, captured singers, conductors, directors and designers alike providing a wealth of imagery which was much admired and ensured his close relationship with Glyndebourne until his death in 1996.

Mike Hoban took over as official house photographer in 1995 and has continued the imaginative and detailed photographic coverage which Guy Gravett had instigated. His superb archive of over 200,000 images offers an extraordinary visual diary of all the different aspects of Glyndebourne.
