We would like to welcome you to ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference' in Seoul held between 19th – 23rd October 2015. Lottery industry in Korea has been advancing rapidly and established remarkable results such as settling a healthy leisure culture, share culture, and strengthening national welfare. Partic-ularly, along with the growth of industrial-scale of lottery, it developed its own unique system by utilizing the world’s leading IT technology. In addition, we concentrate to spread ‘sharing culture’ by assisting the low-income and social welfare with funds raised from the lottery. The APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference, where lottery-relat-ed people from all over the world gather around, is held and organized to re-focus the recent developments of lottery industry in Korea and furthermore Asia Pacific region, and to strengthen international cooperation at the conference. In addition to establishing global network of lottery industry, this meeting will provide an opportunity to discover the future ways of the lottery in Korea and Asia. For this, we focused on building programs that can contribute in suggesting directions to ‘Enhancing the industry’ among Asia-Pa-cific countries. We sincerely ask for your heartful participation to APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference where we can discuss and observe the new future of lottery industry. Thank you.

Welcome everyone to ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference' which is hosted by The Korea Lottery Commission, The Ministry Of Strategy and Finance and organized by Nanum Lotto Inc.in this October. The history of Korea lottery roots back to 1947(69 years before), when it started with ‘London Olympics Support Lottery’. Unlike then, organizing only one printed lottery, now, it developed to a wide range of lottery products from printed and electronic lotto products to online lotto games. Each year, approximately KRW 1.5 trillion of funds are raised from the lottery and contributed to improve social welfares and supplement public services, especially for low-income families. The lottery has been developed based on the recognition of ‘Sharing’ and ‘Donation’ as a culture of lottery. ‘APLA 2015 Annual Regional Conference' will be a place where we can introduce not only lottery industry of Korea but also the gifted culture’s state of development to the world which will enhance the position of Korea. This conference will surely be a truth and meaningful place where each nation’s lottery related people can discuss to vitalize lottery industry which will lead in enhancing the global cooperation. Introduction of Speaker Lee Bo Sung is Executive Director of Research Institution of Automotive Industry, which is the think-tank of Hyundai-KIA Motors Group. He has completed an economics doctorate in Korea Seoul National University. He has many years’ working experience in Economic Research Institution of Lotte Group and Hyundai Group after finishing his study.

Through these careers, he went increasingly to widen his field of expertise. Not only from a simple group of economic research, but also jumped in the automotive market. He professionally began to deal with the economy of a particular industry.

��Currently, he belongs to Hyundai-KIA Automotive Group, and he mainly analyzes the local automotive market, competitor trends and strategies. Moreover, he is responsible for concurrently solve business issues as well as within the group.

Introduction of Speaker Lee Juhee is Vice President of management executive and support division headquarters of E-mart Korea.

He has graduated from Korea University, majored English language and literature in 1992. Upon his graduation, he joined right away as a new employee of management planning division in Shinsegae group, which is one of the top department stores in Korea.

Over the years, he went increasingly to widen his experience in his field, business management department, which is the heart of the group. He has kept his place in Shinsegae up to 2015, for 23 years. That currently made him to become an expert in the financial sectors.

Currently, he is responsible for the general management in Shinsegae, E-mart, and mainly takes care about financial issues.

Introduction of Speaker DS Kim joined J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited in mid-2014 as the Regional Head of Gaming equity research. Prior to J.P. Morgan, DS spent one and a half years at BNP Paribas in the same role; prior to this, DS was at UBS in Seoul, Republic of Korea for six years, having covered various sectors including Korea casino and consumers, Korea automobile parts and tires and Korea technology and global LCD.

DS graduated from Korea University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Topic of KeynoteDelivering Seamless Multi-Channel Marketing Campaigns

Introduction of Speaker Terry O’Connor is Group CEO of Courts Asia Limited, one of Southeast Asia’s leading electrical, IT and furniture retailers, and Country CEO of Courts Singapore. Hailing from Liverpool, England, he started his career in retailing in the cut-throat UK electrical retail marketplace with Colorvision PLC, rising to become Buying Director at age 23.

He was hired by Courts Singapore in 1993, becoming Managing Director in 2000 before assuming the role of CEO in 2007, and has been Group CEO of Courts Asia since 2011. He is a leading figure in the British community in Singapore, having previously held the positions of President of British Chamber of Commerce, and President of the British Club. An active member in public and community service, he is Senior Advisor to the Institute of Advertising, Singapore and a regional board member of Young Presidents’ Organisation, a not-for-profit global network of young CEOs with the mission of becoming ‘Better Leaders through Education and Idea Exchange’. He published a book on his personal and profes-sional journey titled ‘Why Not? The Story of a Retail Maverick and Courts’ in 2013.

In 2010, he was conferred the award of Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty The Queen of England, and was recently honoured with an Honorary Degree by the University of Stirling for contributions to retailing and British business in Singapore.

Introduction of Speaker Mike currently resides in Seoul, Korea leading Corporate Development/Global Partnerships for Baedal Minjok (배달의 민족), Korea's largest and fastest growing mobile service delivery application. Prior to moving to Seoul he led Global Business Development for LinkedIn's Profile & Higher Education product teams. He was responsible for identifying, executing, and managing strategic partnerships to drive member growth, engagement and profile completion. He also negotiated and launched partnerships with Microsoft, Pearson, Lynda.com, iModules, Aspiring and others in EMEA and APAC. Mike was a Director of Business Development for Monster Worldwide, an early member of social gaming giant Zynga, and the CEO and founder of Yollege; a student driven college review site, which was voted as one of the Top 5 Newcomers to the Web by BusinessWeek . He was also elected by the voters of Assembly District 13 as a Delegate to the California Democratic Party in 2011. Now, Mike is Finance Committee Member of Kamala Harris for California Attorney General, Communications Director of California Young Democrats and Bay Area Regional Director, CYD API Caucus in 2010.

Introduction of Speaker Jean-Luc Moner-Banet is Director General of Société de la Loterie de la Suisse Romande, one of the two state-authorized lotteries in Switzerland. Prior to joining Loterie Romande in 1998, he spent a decade working in sales and marketing roles at GTECH Corporation

Beyond his responsibilities as Director General of Loterie Romande, Mr. Moner-Banet has served as President of the World Lottery Association (WLA) since 2012. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Lotteries Association (EL). From 2011–2012 he also acted as Chairman of the Sports Committee of the EL, and in this capacity presided over the adoption of the European Lottery Association’s Sport Charter by the EL General Assembly in 2012. Mr. Moner-Banet is also a member of the Steering Committee of Swiss Lotteries, and a member of the Executive Committee of the multi-jurisdictional EuroMillions lottery game.

Mr. Moner-Banet holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, with a focus on studies in Swiss and European politics and public administration.

With over 25 years’ experience in the lottery and gaming industry, Mr. Moner-Banet is dedicated to furthering the interests of state-authorized lotteries in their efforts to raise money for good causes through the sale of entertaining lottery products in a socially responsible manner.

Introduction of Speaker Basskaran Nair, Adjunct Associate Professor at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, was previously Senior Vice President, Group Corporate Marketing and Communications, at CapitaLand Limited.

Before CapitaLand, he was Equity Partner and CEO of an international communications firm, and Head of Group Communications at DBS Bank. He headed the Singapore Government’s Press Section and managed several national social campaign projects.

He is also Board Member of Certis CISCO Security, Director at IRPAS (Investor Relations Professional Association Singapore, a Singapore Stock Exchange entity), Board Member of Media Development Authority (MDA), and Public Relations Advisor for Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS).

He was conferred the Public Service Medal 2010 (PBM) by the President of the Republic of Singapore, for distinguished service to the nation. The Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) nominated him Fellow of IPRS in 1997, and subsequently awarded him “PR Professional of the Year 2004”, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2008. He has authored books and the latest is “From Main Street to Cyber Street – Changes in the Practice of Communication” focusing on the role of New Media in public communications.
