MLISProgramPlansSIMisintheprocessofaprogramreviewofourMLISdegree.Thisprocessisongoing,butweareexcitedbytheideasbeinggeneratedtostrengthenourdegreeintermsofcurriculumtosupportchangeswithinthe“traditional”sector,includinganewCommunityLedProgrammingcourse,andtoexpandourcurriculumfocusingmorebroadlyonInformationManagement.Weareconsideringthelaunchofcertificateprogramsstudentscouldcompletesimultaneouslywiththeirdegree,andarerethinkingourcorecourses,bothintermsofcontentandsequencingtoallowformoreflexibility.Beginningthissummer,wearecommittedtoofferingoneortwoonlineelectives,togivestudentsmoreoptions.WehostedanAllStudentsmeetingtoensureourcurrentMLISstudentswereinvolvedintheprocess.Staytunedtoourwebsiteformoredetails.MIMProgramUpdatesAlongwithourMLISprogramreview,wearealsoreviewingourMIMprogram.Launchedin2008wehavehad35graduatesfromthisprogramtodate,with7morescheduledtowalkacrossthestagethissummer.Ourprogramfocusesbroadlyoneducatingmid-careerprofessionalstotakeonleadershiprolesinInformationManagementacrossallsectors.Withthereviewwearelookingforwaystoallowstudentstocustomizetheprogramtotheirneeds,andtoexpandtheDataManagementelementsoftheprogram.Wehavebeendoingfocusgroupswithstudentsandalumnitohelpinthisprocess.RecruitmentandOutreachGraduateeducationisbecomingmorecompetitive,andSIMislookingatcreativewayswecantellpeopleaboutourschoolandourprograms.Youmaynoticewearemakingchangestoourwebsite,andhavebeenexperimentingwithFacebookadvertising.WeareworkingwithotherschoolsintheFacultytospreadourmaterialsacrossCanada.ConsistentlyourbestsourceofstudentsisourAlumniandpartners.Ifyouhaveanygreatideasformarketingandpromotionofourprogramspleaseletusknow.
