Jeff speaks Japanese and has developed a broad, executive network in Japan. Jeff is an active member in the community, sitting on numerous boards and supports many charitable organizations. James E. Burba BHN Jim Burba is the co-founder and president of Burba Hotel Network LLC (BHN), the worldwide leader in developing and producing conferences for the hotel and tourism investment community. BHN hosts ten events each year around the world including: ALIS, ALIS Law, ALIS Summer Update, AOCAP, HICAP, HICAP UPDATE, HIFI, CHRIS, HOLA, and Hot.E. In 2008, BHN and Google teamed up to host Digital Discovery Day (D3) and in 2011, Burba was retained by the ITC, a joint agency of the UN and WTO to help organize WEDF which focused on tourism development in the least developed countries of the world. Actively involved in the hotel investment arena for 30 years, Burba was formerly: a principal at Pannell Kerr Forster, Senior Managing Director with Insignia/Hotel Partners, VP/Worldwide Director of Advisory Services at WATG, and President at Horwath HTL (US). A member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) and the Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council (IREFAC), Burba has received numerous honors including the Educational Institute Lamp of Knowledge Award, IREFAC’s first Crystal Ball Award, and the ISHC Pioneer Award. In 2007, California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, re-appointed Burba to his second term on the California Travel & Tourism Commission and he recently served on its Executive Committee.

Benjamin C. Candari FSC Architects Benjamin Chua Candari, AIA is one of the founding Principals of FSC Architects, a hospitality design firm with an international practice offering planning and architecture services from its headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii. The founding partners have over 65 years of combined hospitality design experience and architecture practice with projects spanning the globe in over 27 countries and several international hotel brands. Benjamin has intensive international design experience in hospitality, luxury villas and condominiums, and retail, particularly in Asia and the Pacific. Since 1999, he has worked with firms in the USA and Australia. He is highly skilled in design conceptualization, design development and coordination, as well as construction documentation and administration. He is dedicated to designing environmentally sensitive communities and architecture. His Fine Art background helps him create architecture that is aesthetically responsive to culture and region - bringing life and a sense of place to the structures he designs. Benjamin has recently finished hotels and resorts in Linzhi, Tibet; Sanya, China; and Kunming, China. He is currently working on resort and timeshare projects all over Vietnam.

Jessica Chuang Hotels.com Jessica has been with Hotels.com since Sept 2009 managing G. China and emerging SEA & IN markets. Her internet marketing experiences started from 2003. She has successfully built the Hotels.com brand in the region via integrated marketing strategies. Jessica was born in Taiwan and worked for big brands i.e. Citibank, eBay and HSBC prior to join Hotels.com.

Gary Croker Wyndham Vacation Resorts Gary Croker is Senior Vice President of Business Development for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific. The key focus of Gary’s current role is to acquire resort inventory, establish and grow the Wyndham Vacation Ownership business in Asia. Gary joined Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific in 2003 initially as head of finance for the Asia Pacific region until 2007 before changing roles. Gary is a senior finance executive and chartered accountant with 25 year’s experience covering hospitality, transport, logistics and manufacturing. His experience encompasses operational financial roles, project management, cost reduction initiatives and information management. Gary has significant international experience working in Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan and the US for various companies ranging from large multi-national corporations to small start-up operations.

Paul K. Dean Dean and Associates Has had over 30+ years involvement with international resort development and recreational real estate, with an emphasis on mixed use resorts. This includes hands-on involvement with the setting up of resorts and product legal structures in more than 20 jurisdictions. He has extensive experience of working with global hospitality brands including Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Jumeirah, Kempinski, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott and Starwood. He has worked with boutique and regional brands such as De Vere [UK], Franklyn, Gleneagles, Isrotel, Savoy Madeira, Six Senses, Soneva, Onyx and Yoo. He is co-author of the Encyclopaedia of Forms & Precedents Vo; 41A - Shared Ownership published by Lexis-Nexis; Expertise: All forms of Recreational Real Estate including Branded Residences, BTUL, Condo-hotels, Fractional Interests and Private Residence Clubs plus vacation ownership. Feasibility analysis, financial modelling, concept development and product design, product legal structuring, usage plan design, preparation of operating budgets, reserve funding, marketing and sales strategies and subsequent implementation.

Darren Ettridge Interval International

Darren Ettridge is responsible for managing Interval’s sales, service and business development operations in Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia. In this role he directs sales and resort marketing strategies and oversees the operations of Interval’s offices in the region. In addition, Ettridge is responsible for the resort affiliation, servicing and marketing of Preferred Residences, a membership and exchange programme for luxury shared ownership properties. Ettridge joined Interval International in 2000 as Director of Sales and Service with responsibility for the UK and Scandinavia. He has extensive experience within the vacation ownership sector initially gained with his previous employer, First National Bank (FNB). While holding various positions during his seven-year tenure with FNB, immediately prior to joining Interval he was manager of sales and operations for the company’s vacation ownership division. This department provided consumer lending for the purchase of timeshare. During his time with FNB and Interval, Ettridge has become an established and respected figure within the timeshare industry. He is based at Interval’s London office. Ettridge serves on the Main Board of the Resort Development Organisation in Europe.

Tony Genth VacayStay Connect LLC Some of the highlights of Tony’s career to date include the opportunity to speak at Timeshare and Tourism conferences worldwide and to work with a wide variety of clients across the Globe. He was privileged to serve as Chairman of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and was a founder and first Chairman of the Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence (GATE). In addition to his job history he has completed assignments for more than 90 clients in over 30 countries and has provided advice and restructuring of marketing and sales programs for several financial institutions including the FDIC. He has worked in corporate environments several times over his career and has served as a Board Director on numerous occasions.

Michael Roderick Hall Dynamic Property Ltd Mike Hall has just completed five years as General Manager, and then Managing Director, Asia Pacific for The Absolute World Group, one of Asia’s leading Lifestyle Property Developers, Vacation Club and Fractional Ownership Brands. Since joining the company in 2011, Mike has worked alongside the group’s strategic management team to deliver a range of exciting initiatives from new sales operations to lead generation programs to resort openings, whilst managing an extensive sales force across the Asia Pacific region. As a veteran of the vacation ownership industry, Mike has a wealth of experience in Fractional and vacation club operations having previously directed Interval International and RCI-affiliated projects across Central America, Europe and Asia. Tim Hallett Marriott Vacation Club International Mr. Hallett is the Vice President - Chief Development Executive - Asia Pacific region for Marriott Vacation Club International. He is an experienced Hospitality Real Estate professional at the MD and COO level, working at the leading edge of hospitality development, innovation and value creation with specific expertise in the Asian Pacific and emerging markets. Tim was the MD of The Sinar Mas Group Hospitality Business based in Singapore, before joining the privately held Cinnovation Group or Companies as CEO to build out a multiple asset/brand Hospitality business that included; Alila Hotels & Resorts, Taj Asia Ltd, Taj Safaris and Zinc Hospitality. Prior to joining Century Properties. Tim was one of the founding members of Silverneedle Hospitality a division of the Nadathur Group Family Investment Office, heading the Acquisition and Development business unit, instrumental in acquiring assets and hospitality mixed use developments in Australia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Joseph W. Hickman Interval International Joe Hickman has held the position of vice president/executive director for Interval International Asia Pacific for almost 15 years. He has responsibility for implementing business development activities for Asia-Pacific, including affiliating resorts with Interval International's global network, developing and directing sales and resort marketing strategies, as well as managing developer client relationships. Hickman has lived and worked in Asia for over 35 years and has spent his entire professional career in the hospitality and timeshare industries. He has worked with Westin, Shangri-La and Conrad Hotels in Asia Pacific and also served as corporate director for vacation ownership for Hilton Hotels, being part of the team that pioneered Hilton's entry into the timeshare industry. From 1995 through 2000, he was the Executive Director for RCI Asia Pacific. Over the years, he has been responsible for marketing, public relations, member and resort services, business development, IT, human resources, as well as call centre operations in Asia and Australia. He has amassed experience in a broad range of areas including resort management, sales and marketing, finance, resort services, business development and call center operations. Joe has serves on a variety of industry boards including the Timeshare Associations of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

Angie Ho Pan Pacific Hotels Group Angie has 15 years of digital marketing experience across hospitality, technology and retail brands. She joined the Group in 2010 and is responsible for online marketing, content and social media marketing strategy with particular focus on enhancing the online revenue across both the Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL brands managed by the Group.

Cyndy Tan Jarabata TAJARA Hospitality Group Cyndy Tan Jarabata has diverse experience extending 20 years in the hospitality, leisure and property industries, being involved in acquisition, hotel development, project management, marketing and asset management. TAJARA is the leading hospitality consulting and development company working with hotel investment firms and property developers in the Philippines, and serving clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, China and Thailand. Declan Thomas Kenny FNTC Limited Declan Kenny is a Director of First Names Group and CEO of First National Trustee Company Limited (FNTC), which is a fully owned subsidiary of First Names Group. Gary M. Knowles Karma Group Gary has had significant experience in various leadership roles across multiple business sectors and geographic regions. His base knowledge is foundered on a chartered accountant’s qualification and he has held senior leadership roles as CFO, COO, CEO and Managing Director, Group CEO and Corporate Advisor. Tien Gui Koh Rajah & Tann Singapore, LLP Tien Gui has over 18 years of corporate and commercial experience. He has developed expertise in the property sector, particularly the hotels and tourism industry across South East Asia, China and Japan. Tien Gui had also previously worked in-house in senior counsel and company secretary roles for international hotel corporations including Jumeriah Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International. In Jumeirah, he was the Asia Pacific General Counsel where he draft, negotiated and supervised negotiations of hotel management agreements for hotel projects in Shanghai, Beijing, Sanya, Lijiang, Qiandaohu, Hangzhou, Guangzhou in the PRC; Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand; Bali in Indonesia and in the Maldives, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau. He was director/general counsel for Behringer Holdings, where he supervised and managed the group's legal teams in Singapore, Germany, China, US and the Philippines. Michael N. Kosmas RMS Michael Kosmas been an executive in the resort, hotel and shared ownership industry for 25 years. Specializing in marketing, finance, start up’s and turn arounds, Mr. Kosmas served as VP Marketing at Anantara and head marketing consultant for Banyan Tree Group’s new vacation club launch in 2016. His work in Asia began in Beijing in 2009, speaking to investors at a conference in Tiananmen Square, and partnering with banks and financial institutions. Through these relationships he was the first to successfully develop and implement direct marketing campaigns throughout mainland China and SEA to generate annual vacation club revenues in excess of $60M USD. In the US Mr. Kosmas served as VP Marketing and SVP Marketing for Starwood, Marriott, and his family’s development group. He has opened call centers and developed direct marketing and social media campaigns in China, SEA, Canada, the U.S. and Caribbean with sales up to $300M USD annually. Mr. Kosmas earned his MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 2000, has been a panel speaker for the Sino American Trade Association in Tiananmen Square, a panelist and award winner at ARDA, and was appointed as a Delegate to the White House Conference on Tourism.

Eric J. Levy Tourism Solutions Intl. Eric Levy is Managing Director of Tourism Solutions International (TSI). TSI is a hospitality investment firm with more than 20 years presence in Asia. In addition to its investment and asset management activities, it conducts select advisory work that is investment related. With TSI, Eric was a founding partner with Octagon Capital Partners in 2002 to 2005. At Colony Capital Asia Pacific, Eric was Executive Vice President, where he was involved in various sectors of the real estate industry. His main focus was to drive Colony’s hotel investment efforts in Asia. Prior to returning to TSI, he was the Senior Vice President Growth and Development for Pan Pacific Hotels Group where he had global responsibility for growing the company through acquisitions and third party management contracts. He was also a Senior Partner with Horwath Asia Pacific and a Founder and President of Horwath Hotel Partners, providing hotel brokerage services primarily to Asian hotel owners. Eric has lived in Singapore for the last 24 years, dating from when he opened the Singapore office of Horwath Asia Pacific. He joined Horwath in the early 80’s, and was based in Hong Kong prior to his move to Singapore. Vernon Lim RCI In his 18 years in the airline and hospitality industries, Vernon has accumulated extensive knowledge in developing successful loyalty programmes, and strategic and affiliate partnerships. As Director, Affiliate Marketing and New Product Development in RCI, Vernon spearheads their marketing and product development efforts in providing value added timeshare and vacation ownership solutions to industry partners. Prior to joining RCI, Vernon was the global head of Millennium & Copthorne’s loyalty programme, the M&C Loyalty Club, overseeing the strategic, marketing and operational functions of the programme. He also held various posts in Singapore Airlines including their KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme, managing the strategic relationship with major partners such as American Express, Hertz and Accor. Vernon holds a Bachelor of Management Studies (First Class Honours) from the University of Waikato in New Zealand and a Master of Science from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Jim Marmorstone Florida International University Mr. Marmorstone has thirty-four years of experience in developing mixed use real estate resorts. William Francis Minnock Marriott Vacation Club International Bill Minnock joined Marriott Vacations Worldwide (“MVW”) as Managing Director Asia Pacific in September 2014, based in Singapore. The company has three resorts in Thailand and recently acquired the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort in Australia. The company is seeking to expand rapidly in the region. Prior to joining MVW, Bill held numerous positions in his 31 years working for Marriott International. He has extensive experience in real estate development and led MVW’s Resort Development group from 1994 to 2001. During that time, he oversaw the company’s expansion into Asia and Europe and was also responsible for the company’s rapid growth in North America. He has held numerous positions in global hotel development including SVP of Development Asset Management, SVP Finance for Architecture and Construction and VP of Hotel Feasibility. He also has extensive experience in hotel operations. Bill was SVP Global Operations Services from 2010 to 2014 where he managed Marriott’s product and service innovation process for all brands worldwide. He also led the Quality Improvement programs and was responsible for implementing guestVoice, Marriott’s guest satisfaction and social media listening platform and also revamped the Brand Standard Audit programs. Bill also served as the General Manager of the Bethesda Marriott hotel. Bill is actively involved in hospitality education. From January to July, 2014, he served as Executive in Residence for the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. Howard C. Nusbaum ARDA Howard C. Nusbaum has served as president and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) since 2000. His current role at ARDA includes serving as president of the ARDA Board of Directors, the ARDA International Foundation (AIF) Board of Directors, and the ARDA-ROC Executive Committee. He also serves as publisher for ARDA’s Developments magazine, the “voice of the vacation ownership industry.” Over the past thirty years, Howard has held executive hotel positions in the private sector, as well as executive positions in not-for-profit association management. Sarah Rezak RCI Sarah Rezak, RRP, is the Director of Business Development in Southeast Asia and Pacific for RCI. Barry Robinson Wyndham Vacation Resorts Barry Robinson joined Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific in September 2003 as CEO and Managing Director. James L. Sabot Dean and Associates Jim Sabot built a solid foundation in the Resort Shared Ownership industry in his native United States. Since 1999 he has had consistent track record of success in the Asia Pacific Region. Jim was founding Vice President/Director of Marketing of Trendwest Resorts South Pacific - now Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, the industry’s largest player. He served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Marketing for Accor Vacation Club saw that company more than double its annual revenue and expand to 17 sales centers throughout Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. Jim was a participant in the feasibility and business planning for the development of Anantara Vacation Club, under Minor International’s luxury Anantara Resorts brand. He then served as its founding Vice President of Marketing. Joe Sita IFA Hotel Investments An accomplished CEO, Sita brings more than 35 years’ experience to his position as Chief Executive Officer of IFA Hotel Investments. In this role, Sita drives the strategic direction of IFA Hotels & Resorts’ operational asset portfolio, currently valued at approximately USD$1billion and that operates in the Middle East, North America, Europe, South Africa and Asia. Prior to joining IFA Hotel Investments in 2010, Sita was the founding CEO of Istithmar Hotels, a position he held for four years. During that time and under his leadership Istithmar Hotels amassed a global portfolio of hotel assets valued at approximately US$4 billion. While in this role, Sita sat on the board of Kerzner Ltd, and was also Chairman of Corinthia Hotels International. Before moving to Dubai in late 2005, Sita was Singapore based where he held the role of Executive Vice President of Development for Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, a post he held for 4 years. Sita also spent 13 years at Accor Asia Pacific (1988 – 2001) where he held positions ranging from hotel General Manager and Director of Operations to Head of Development. Sita’s last role at Accor was as CEO of Accor Vacation Club, which he founded in1999. More recently (2011 – 2014) Sita has held the role of non-executive Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Best Hotels Properties a.s., a Slovakian listed hotel investment company that has ownership interests in some of eastern Europe’s best hotels including the Kempinski Baltschug, Moscow and the Hotel InterContinental, Prague.

Martin J. Tolan Anantara Vacation Club Martin J. Tolan is the Chief Operating Officer of Anantara Vacation Club, part of Minor International. He began his career in Sales and Marketing from a young age, selling suits while attending secondary school in Charleston, SC. After gaining Vacation Ownership experience in Orlando, and with his family’s Fee-for-Service business in London, Martin launched his own marketing company. In less than 3 years, Martin’s self-made company grew to 175 employees, grossing $45 million annually; in 1997 he sold his company to Vistana which was then acquired by Starwood Hotels. As the Sales and Marketing VP of Starwood Vacation Ownership he managed the East Coast, Caribbean and Mexico, which generated over 100,000 tours and $350 million in annual revenues, leading teams of over 800 associates for 16 years. In 2012, attracted by the Anantara brand and the emerging Asian markets, Martin made a change, moving his wife and daughters to Bangkok, where they have thrived in the hospitable Thai culture. Marc Townsend CBRE (Vietnam) Co., Ltd Marc Townsend is the Managing Director of CBRE (Vietnam) Co, Ltd. Marc arrived in Asia in 1988 and has lived in Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam since 2003 covering property sales & marketing, investment sales and development consultancy throughout South East Asia. Presently, as a Managing Director for CBRE Vietnam with a staff of over 250 professionals, Marc oversees all CBRE Vietnam business activities. Norbert Vas Archipelago International Norbert has more than 25 years of hotel industry experience in Indonesia, the USA, Germany, Belgium and Spain. Jennifer E. Villalobos Google Jenn Villalobos heads up the APAC Travel Supplier business for Google APAC. This includes Airlines, Hotels and Destination Marketing Organisations. She has more than 15 years of experience in digital marketing and creative strategy and is particularly passionate about transforming the business landscape in developing markets like SEA and Hispanic LATAM. Jenn is known at Google for constantly challenging C level stakeholders to embrace digital so that they can remain relevant and innovate in a culture of speed in a creative fashion. Jenn joined Google 10 years ago, holding different Sales and Product related roles out of Sydney, Melbourne, Mexico City, Miami and now Singapore. Mark Wang Hilton Grand Vacations Mark Wang has served as President of Hilton Grand Vacations since 2008. oversees all of the company’s global timeshare operations for Hilton Grand Vacations. Mr. Wang first joined Hilton in 1999 as Managing Director for Hawaii and Asia-Pacific and has held a series of senior management positions within Hilton Grand Vacations. Kit Whalley Interval International Kit Whalley is the Director for Business Development in Asia Pacific for Interval International. Robert Williams Ryan Lawyers Robert Williams, Principal, Ryan Lawyers works from the firm’s Sydney and Singapore offices. Paul M. Wiste Jumeirah Group Paul Matthew Wiste is Vice President Development- Design for the Jumeirah Group. Based in the Jumeirah’s Singapore office, Paul previously worked for Jumeirah in Dubai with a focus on the Asia Pacific portfolio. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Paul gained global experience working in Architectural practices in Malaysia, Korea, England, Poland, Brazil, and finally the United Arab Emirates. He is a professionally registered Architect in the United Kingdom through the Architects Registration Board (ARB) a professional member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and is on the Expert Committee of the Asia Pacific Hotel Design Association (APHDA). Paul has presented keynote speeches and participated in panel discussions at various Hospitality and Architecture conferences within the Asia Pacific region. He is active in researching and publishing future trends and theory in hospitality design, drawing upon the professional experience he has accumulated across the globe. A true citizen of the world, his passion for design and the built environment is constantly being applied to the Asia Pacific portfolio of projects he leads.
