Drew Gilpin Faust is the 28th President of HarvardUniversity and the Lincoln Professor of History inHarvard’sFacultyofArtsandSciences.As president of Harvard, Faust has expanded financialaidtoimproveaccesstoHarvardCollegeforstudentsofalleconomicbackgroundsandadvocatedfor increasedfederal funding for scientific research. She hasbroadened the University’s international reach, raised

theprofileoftheartsoncampus,embracedsustainability,launchededX,theonline learning partnership with MIT, and promoted collaboration acrossacademic disciplines and administrative units as she guided the Universitythroughaperiodofsignificantfinancialchallenges.Sheistheauthorofsixbooks,includingThisRepublicofSuffering:DeathandtheAmericanCivilWar(2008),forwhichshewonthe2009BancroftPrize,theNew-York Historical Society’s 2009 American History Book Prize, andwhichwas recognized by The New York Times as one of the “Ten Best Books of2008.” It is the basis for a 2012 Emmy-nominated episode of the PBSAmerican Experience documentaries titled “Death and the Civil War,”directedbyRicBurns.

Peter Bol is Vice Provost for Advances in Learning(VPAL) and the Charles H. Carswell Professor of EastAsian Languages and Civilizations. As an historian ofChina he works on the sociocultural history of theliterati. As Vice Provost he is responsible for guidingsupport and services for faculty to advance learningand teaching environments (on-campus and online).

Through his office, Bol has budgetary oversight of HarvardX, the HarvardInitiative for Learning and Teaching (HILT), and research collaborations toadvancethescienceoflearning.

Erin Driver-Linn is Associate Provost for InstitutionalResearch and Director of HILT. At HILT, Erin helpsfacilitate experimentation with innovative pedagogiesandworks to forge collaborative ties among teachingandlearningexpertswithinandbeyondtheUniversity.SheworkscloselywiththeViceProvostforAdvancesinLearningandothers intheOfficeofthePresidentand

Jack Goldstone is the Virginia E.and John T. Hazel, Jr.Professor of Public Policy at GeorgeMasonUniversity.HeistheauthorofRevolutionandRebellionintheEarlyModern World, awarded the 1993 DistinguishedScholarly ResearchAwardof theAmerican SociologicalAssociation;WhyEurope?TheRiseoftheWestinWorldHistory; and nine other books as well as over onehundred research articles on topics in politics, socialmovements, democratization, and long-term social

change.HehasappearedonNPR,CNN,Al-Jazeera,FoxNews,andwrittenforForeign Policy, The Atlantic, the Washington Post, Al-Hayat and theInternationalHeraldTribune.

RebeccaWinthropisaSeniorFellowandDirectoroftheCenter for Universal Education at The BrookingsInstitution.SheistheformerheadofeducationfortheInternational Rescue Committee, a humanitarian aidNGO. Her research focuses on education in thedeveloping world, with special attention to the skillschildrenneed to succeed in life, and improvingqualitylearning for themostmarginalized childrenand youth,including girls and children affected by extreme

violence.Dr.Winthropworkstopromoteequitablelearningissuesforyoungpeople in developing countries. She advises governments, internationalinstitutions, foundations, and corporations on education and developmentissues, and provides guidance to a number of important education policyactors.

JonHanson(facilitator)istheAlfredSmartProfessorofLaw, the Faculty Director of The Systemic JusticeProject, and the Director of The Project on Law andMindSciencesatHarvardLawSchool.Histeachingandscholarship melds social psychology, social cognition,economics, history, and law. Hanson has receivedseveralteachingawardsandisthefacultyleaderfor1LSectionSix.

JacobLipton(facilitator)istheProgramDirectoroftheSystemic Justice Project, a policy innovationcollaboration at Harvard Law School devoted toworking with students to identify injustice, designsolutions, promote awareness, and advocate reformstopolicymakers,opinionleaders,andthepublic.

BethAltringerisaLectureronInnovationandDesignatSEASandGSD,withaPhD inpsychology(of innovativework) and an architecture masters. She studies whatfactors differentiate more (and less) successfulinnovation strategies, processes, product designs, andtraining. Matthew Schwartz (facilitator) is Professor of Physicsat Harvard University. Since he arrived at Harvard in2008, he has been working to improve teaching andeducation in the physics department. ProfessorSchwartz has overhauled both undergraduate andgraduate courses, incorporating active learning andother modern approaches to connect with today's

student body. He is also interested in science education and undergraduateeducationmorebroadly.

ChristopherRobichaud is Lecturer inEthicsandPublicPolicy at theHarvard Kennedy School of Government.Hisworkfocusesonareasinethics,politicalphilosophy,and social epistemology.Dr. Robichaud is currentlypursuing the pedagogical goal of "gamifying" certaincomponents of the curriculum at HKS. His efforts inusing gameplay to facilitate learning have been

incorporated into areas ranging from the core MPP curriculum to someExecutiveEducationprograms.

Richard Schwartzstein is the Ellen andMelvinGordonProfessor of Medicine and Medical Education, andDirectorofTheAcademyatHarvardMedicalSchoolandthe Shapiro Institute for Education and Research atHMS and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr.Schwartzstein played a key role in the design of thePathwayscurriculumatHMSandhaswrittenanaward

winningtextbookonrespiratoryphysiology.InadditiontohisclinicalworkatBIDMC,heservesasVPforEducation.
