An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to take on a temporary leadership role as Lead Nurse for Community Nursing Services in East Division for a 6 month period in the first instance.

As well as day to day management responsibility, you will provide professional leadership and direction to District Nurses, Out of Hours/Evening services, Hospital at Home nurses and community based Treatment Room staff within East Division. You will also directly line-manage the Fife wide Tissue Viability Service and contribute to ongoing Fife wide service redesign. You will report to the Acting Community Services Manager, will be professionally supervised by the East Division Head of Nursing, and be part of an active network of Lead Nurses across the Partnership.

During this time you will be paid in accordance with Annex U arrangements for pay and banding of trainees.

We are seeking to recruit to this post commencing in July within the Nurse Led Surgical / Orthopaedic Pre-assessment Suite at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. This is an opportunity for an experienced senior nurse who should be educated to or working towards a nursing degree. The post will be Monday to Friday over 3-5 days depending on the needs of the service.

The surgical / orthopaedic nurse practitioner is an autonomous practitioner who will support the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, working closely with other Nurse Practitioner colleagues, Consultant Anaesthetists and Surgeons in managing waiting list patients attending for elective surgical and orthopaedic procedures. The nurse practitioner will carry out a comprehensive medical assessment and manage the ongoing medical needs of elective patients to facilitate planned admission for surgery.

The purpose of this role is to assess and then optimise the health of patient’s pre operatively, liaise and plan admission with the surgical / orthopaedic wards and theatre and to commence discharge planning. You will be expected to develop and expand the nurse practitioner role to meet the needs of patients and the service.

Heart, lung and abdominal assessment skills are essential as are 12 lead ECG interpretation skills. Training will be arranged where necessary. Clinical decision making skills and knowledge of the acute surgical / orthopaedic elective patient pathway is desirable. Non-Medical prescribing would be advantageous.

As a Nurse Practitioner you will be committed to continuous professional development and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. As an experienced nurse you will provide strong clinical support to, and work in partnership with the multi disciplinary team.

We are currently recruiting Nurses to Acute Medicine of the Elderly in Victoria Hospital. We are looking for nurses who wish to develop skills in Medicine of the Elderly as well as nurses who are experienced in this specialty. With the increasing number of frail older people in the population, there is an innovative frailty assessment in place at the front door point of admission which helps to identify appropriate acute admissions into Acute Medicine of the elderly wards. The experience available to you in Medicine of the Elderly will enable you to develop a range of skills which will be transferrable to many care settings and other inpatient specialties. It is a developing specialty which offers the opportunity to nurse patients with complex conditions and acute delirium which can be challenging but highly rewarding.

This is an ideal opportunity to join a team who has a newly appointed motivated and enthusiastic Senior Charge Nurse interested in developing a highly specialist workforce. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in Fife CAMHS generic child and adolescent psychiatry. This post will be in the West team based in Dunfermline. The department (Fife CAMHS) includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Child Psychotherapy and dietetics. The post holder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists. The service has one core trainee from the Edinburgh training scheme and currently also a Higher trainee.

We have been at the forefront in Scotland in developing an Intensive Therapy Service including Eating Disorders to offer community based support for children and young people with severe mental health problems. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, for looked after children and for children and young people who have been sexually abused. As consultant psychiatrist you will be required to provide an input to all teams with a special emphasis on the Intensive Therapy. Generic work will include ADHD with co morbid presentations, anxiety, depression and psychosis. The Tier 3 ADHD pathway currently sits within the community paediatric service. It has been established for 10 years and includes nurses (with prescribing role), and psychologists. It offers assessment and treatment for young people with ADHD, including parent education groups and transition clinics for adolescents. The medical input into the pathway is provided by consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists.

The current general paediatric consultant team have special interests in allergy, child protection, diabetes, endocrinology, respiratory, gastroenterology, neurobehavioural paediatrics, rheumatology, neurology and cardiology. You will be encouraged to work closely with specialists in the regional centres, to contribute to audit and research on the unit and to further enhance and promote paediatric training in Fife. This post carries a mandatory on-call commitment to the acute paediatric rota. A separate neonatal rota is in place

The Paediatric and Child Health Services in Fife are delivered across a number of community settings and in a 24 bedded in-patient ward located in the recently built wing of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. A separate Children’s Out-Patient Department and Ambulatory Care Unit complete the services offered in the hospital. There are around 3000 medical paediatric admissions per annum. Additional out-patients services are offered at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

Every individual is responsible for registering, getting started and working through the programme within 12 months. Locally you will be allocated a Flying Start Facilitator, who will offer you support, feedback and guidance during your first year in practice.

The Practice is based within Kirkcaldy Health Centre and conveniently situated next to Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. Our current list size is approximately 7300. The Practice is paper-light and uses Vision and Docman.

The Practice has 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 Associate Nurse Partner, 1 Specialist Practice Nurse, 1 Practice Nurse and a hard-working team of 12 admin staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care at all times and work hard to offer a wide range of services to suit the needs of our patients.

Due to retiral of our Senior Partner, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated GP to join our team. There is the option for this post to be salaried or the option for partnership. Sessions are negotiable but we would ideally like the successful applicant to cover 8 sessions per week. We would hope to support any existing interests that successful applicants may have.

Muiredge surgery is a well-established practice situated on the Fife coast, 10 minutes’ drive from Kirkcaldy and approximately 30-35 minutes’ drive from Dundee and Edinburgh.

We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to join our friendly team. We have 7,500 patients approx. and 5 FTE GPs. (Currently 5 partners and 2 salaried GPs, all part-time i.e. less than 9 sessions, min 5 sessions, max 8.)

We have 6 sessions to offer, due to the relocation of one of our salaried GPs to a practice nearer home, and would prefer to offer a partnership but are happy to negotiate.

disease management clinics. EMIS clinical system, paper light practice. In house services such as minor surgery, family planning and child health

psychology, midwifery, podiatry, dietetics and alcohol counselling. Close liaison with community palliative care nurses and health visitors.
