An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to take on a temporary leadership role as Lead Nurse for Community Nursing Services in East Division for a 6 month period in the first instance.

As well as day to day management responsibility, you will provide professional leadership and direction to District Nurses, Out of Hours/Evening services, Hospital at Home nurses and community based Treatment Room staff within East Division. You will also directly line-manage the Fife wide Tissue Viability Service and contribute to ongoing Fife wide service redesign. You will report to the Acting Community Services Manager, will be professionally supervised by the East Division Head of Nursing, and be part of an active network of Lead Nurses across the Partnership.

You are required to be an NHS Fife Employee, Intern or Bank Staff member to apply for this post. In the first instance substantive employees will be considered for this post. We have a Band 8A vacancy for a Clinical Midwifery Manager for in-patient midwifery services. As Senior Charge Nurse for the dialysis areas you will be responsible for ensuring high quality, patient centred care in the 3 Dialysis Units across Fife. Your primary base will be Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy with regular travel to the satellite units. The post is an exciting opportunity to influence, manage and lead a team in delivering contemporary care in a busy environment, working with a well established multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with the other Renal areas including the Inpatient Ward and the Community Team. As a senior nurse with the Emergency Care Directorate you will participate regularly in the Duty Charge Nurse rota. We are looking for a forward thinking individual to come and work as part of our Emergency Nurse Practitioner service. The ENP deliver care to our minor injury flow of patients working across both the Emergency Dept at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and the Minor Injury Unit at the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.

You are invited from suitably qualified and experienced ENP's. Candidates who have successfully completed an accredited Minor Injury, Clinical decision making and Non-medical prescribing course will be considered for this post. Candidates with only accreditation for a minor injury course will be required to complete a specific learning programme prior to progression to a Band 7. During this time you will be paid in accordance with Annex U arrangements for pay and banding of trainees.

You must have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work autonomously, plan and prioritise workloads. You must also be flexible with your shift patterns and be a team player. The Emergency Department is a great learning environment giving many opportunities for learning new skills.

This post will be rotational nights and days. Is full time 37.5 hours, with a requirement for flexible working.

Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) has been in Fife for over 25 years. The model has evolved over the years from being focused on physical rehabilitation into a comprehensive, individualised lifestyle programme. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CR Specialist Nurse to join the Fife Community Cardiac Specialist Nurse Service. This role is to support the delivery of the Fife Cardiac Rehabilitation agenda across Fife. The role comprises of undertaking individual clinical risk assessments of people with heart disease (HD) conditions including heart failure, the identification of the most appropriate programmes of CR for individuals and supporting the delivery of rehabilitation. This is done through working in partnership across primary and secondary care, including agencies and organisations outside the NHS to support people with HD conditions in their individual rehabilitation and health behaviour change.

The purpose of this role is to assess and then optimise the health of patient’s pre operatively, liaise and plan admission with the surgical / orthopaedic wards and theatre and to commence discharge planning. You will be expected to develop and expand the nurse practitioner role to meet the needs of patients and the service.

Heart, lung and abdominal assessment skills are essential as are 12 lead ECG interpretation skills. Training will be arranged where necessary. Clinical decision making skills and knowledge of the acute surgical / orthopaedic elective patient pathway is desirable. Non-Medical prescribing would be advantageous.

As a Nurse Practitioner you will be committed to continuous professional development and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. As an experienced nurse you will provide strong clinical support to, and work in partnership with the multi disciplinary team.

You will be expected to work across NHS Fife. Orthopaedic clinics are provided in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline, and the flexibility to travel around the Fife area on a daily basis is required, depending on the needs of the service.

You must have an excellent knowledge base regarding the management of musculoskeletal conditions and previous practical experience at highly specialist or advanced practice physiotherapy level. Injection therapy would be preferable. Experience of teaching undergraduates and junior staff and evidence of effective clinical leadership are essential. The post holder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists. The service has one core trainee from the Edinburgh training scheme and currently also a Higher trainee.

We have been at the forefront in Scotland in developing an Intensive Therapy Service including Eating Disorders to offer community based support for children and young people with severe mental health problems. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, for looked after children and for children and young people who have been sexually abused. As consultant psychiatrist you will be required to provide an input to all teams with a special emphasis on the Intensive Therapy. Generic work will include ADHD with co morbid presentations, anxiety, depression and psychosis. The Tier 3 ADHD pathway currently sits within the community paediatric service. It has been established for 10 years and includes nurses (with prescribing role), and psychologists. It offers assessment and treatment for young people with ADHD, including parent education groups and transition clinics for adolescents. The medical input into the pathway is provided by consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists.

Additional out-patients services are offered at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
