2. SPAIN REMAINS A TOP EUROPEAN LOCATION FOR THE PV INDUSTRY

Spain has the second-highest level of installed PV capacity in Europe, both in absolute terms and on a per-capita basis.

After slowing down in 2009, the rate of new PV capacity installation increased in 2010 with almost 400 MW of new new grid-connected PV in 2011.

3. ANDALUSIA REMAINS A LEADING SPANISH REGION FOR THE PV INDUSTRY

Andalusia had nearly 750 MW of installed PV capacity at the end of 2010. Similar to the rest of Spain, new installations came to stop in 2009. However, new installations increased by 12% in 2010 reflecting the overall recovery of the market.

The region has 16 PV plants with more than 5 MW capacity and 18 PV plants with a power range between 1-5 MW in operation.
