In December 2010, 50.8% of newly acquired devices were Smartphones. November 2010 was the first time that Smartphones made up the majority of newly acquired devices.
The desire for feature phones as new devices is declining: acquisitions of Smartphone's are up 69.7% whilst non-Smartphone acquisitions are down 23.4% year-on-year.
