CHOCOLATEBUTTFACE: THE POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

• Presenting a Powerpoint about BALANCE• Balance, as seen in this picture with two

tigers, is very important.• BALANCE IS KEWL!

Now it’s time to get serious

• Seriously

Symmetrical Balance

• Mirror image balance• If a line is drawn down the center, it the two

sides will be similar• Sometimes they are completely identical• Commonly used for architecture and

butterflies• Don’t use if it will make the scene seem

unnatural or forced.

Asymmetrical Balance

• Several small objects are balanced by one LARGE OBJECT!

• OR! Smaller objects are further away from the center of the screen than LARGE OBJECTS!

• OR! ONE DARK ITEM IS PLACED TO BALANCE OUT LIGHTER ITEMS!

• More difficult, even though it may seem less planned and more random.

ASYMMETRICAL CONT!

• Try to use it subtlely

RADIAL BALANCE

• All elements radiate from the center.• It’s very easy to maintain a focal point in radial

balance.• Could be useful for abstract art
