The Neighbourhood Plan Team have been survey-
ing Morton to determine the character of the vil-
lage, looking at the design of the streets and mak-
ing observations on landscape features in order to
provide a descriptive narrative of what makes
Morton a distinctive place. The aim is to protect
the village from inappropriate development in the
future, so don’t worry if you have seen people tak-
ing notes or photographs near your home – the
action is aimed at protecting our great village.
Once the character study has been compiled it will
be published so that the people of Morton can see
and comment on it.
The Gainsborough children’s Fun Run sets off at a fast pace, and the eventual
winner was local lad Thomas Sweeting. There were nearly 80 young runners
so many congratulations to all the finishers!
The Gainsborough 10k as the runners stand waiting for the race to start on
Walkerith Road. There was a one minute applause to remember the Striders
runner Helen Robinson who sadly died earlier this year.
This year’s 10k was again a very successful event, attracting nearly 1000
runners. The organisers would like to thank the Morton, East Stockwith and
Walkerith residents for their support and cooperation on the day.
