CareerConnectionsisanemergingdynamicpartnershipbetweenIndianHillsCommunityCol-legeandareahighschools.Highschool juniorsand seniors are able to earn college credit byenrollingincoursestaughtintheircommunityoronanIndianHillscampus. Career Connections features career-focusedcollegecreditcoursesofferedatnochargetothestudent. Studentswill takeCareer Connectionscourseseitherinthemorningorafternoonandwillattendtheirhighschoolclassesduringtheoppositetimeblock. TheConstructionTechnologyCareerAcademiesofferOskaloosaandOttumwastudentstrainingandpracticalexperienceinbasicbuildingskillssuchasblueprintreading,framing,drywallinstallationandfinishing,basicstairbuilding,cabinetinstallation,trimandinteriorfinish,windowanddoorinstalla-tion, insulation systems and building materials.Studentslearntousethemostup-to-datebuildingtechniquesincludingenergyefficiency,insulatedfoundations, modular plumbing, estimating andframing. Inmostcases,studentswillbeabletoearnAs-sociateofAppliedSciencedegreesinConstructionTechnologyatIndianHillswithonlyonemoreyearofstudyaftertheirhighschoolgraduation.
