Examples of bad mobile designIt’s no matter that Johns Hopkins Hospital has been one of the top ranked hospitals in the U.S. consecutively for the past 20 years, I find it comical that they have one of the worst mobile medical sites I’ve ever seen. Good luck tapping Clinical Services category and not fat finger tapping any one of the 17 other categories on accident.

Examples of bad mobile designIn one of the biggest plays of irony around, we see Nokia. While this isn’t actually a mobile specific site design, one couldn’t be found. That’s right, one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world doesn’t have mobile specific content.

Examples of good mobile designLiving in Utah skiing is just something you do. That said, Snowbird, a local resort has always offered up a great mobile experience. They have done a great job stripping out any fluff and only giving users the most important aspects of their web content.

Examples of good mobile designAfter recently discovering I needed a little extra something in the men’s antiperspirant area I found myself on Dove’s Men + Care website. I accessed it on my phone and was completely impressed with the experience. Things were simple and easy to tap on while I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything because I was accessing their site on my mobile device.

Client RecommendationI had a client that originally had me build out a simple ecommerce store for them. As their website gained an audience they realized the importance of optimizing browsing for mobile users.

I recommended we take their existing website and simply make the design responsive. This way we are utilizing all of the current elements on their site but delivering the content in the best possible way, regardless of the screen size of the user.
