Aims• Work together: building a strong link between universities

and public service providers• Better education while working on real problems• Helping to formulate problems and find solutions

• Develop open source solutions: products from the Hackathon (codes, assets, …) belong to the Hackathon and cannot be used sold without permission;

• DS-Cubed has been established in DMU to ensure Hackthon projects and new ideas are continued to develop after the Hackathon and during the year;

AgendaTuesday 10Th Nov. 2015:• 8:30-9:00: Arrival and registrations • 9:00-9:30: Welcome, housekeeping  and introduction to the event• 9:30- 9:50: Introduction to proposals and group allocations• 9:50-10:00: Coffee break• 10:00-12:00- Teams working on proposals and design of solutions • 12:00-13:00- Presentations by each group and feedback from audience • 13:00-13:30 Lunch• 13:30-18:30: coding on each project with short reports/feedback sessions every two hours 

Wednesday 11th:• 9:00-9:15: Coffee • 9:15-9:45- report by each group on lessons learnt  (things which have worked and things which have not

worked) and plans for the 2nd day• 9:30-13:00: coding on each project with short reports/feedback sessions every two hours • 13:00-13:30 Lunch• 13:30-3:30: coding on each project with short reports/feedback sessions every two hours• 3:30-4:30: packaging and leaving the code on the open source repository • 4:30-5:30: Presentations by each group on what has been achieved and future plans • 5:30-6:00: Cleanup and close of the event

Proposals• A web repository for collecting and crowd sourcing data for skin cancer

research • An app for ForeverSavvy charity for coaching adults with learning

disabilities• Monitor challenging behaviour for a patient with dementia residing in a

care home or an inpatient in a community hospital: proposed by Consultant Psychiatrist with the MHSOP In-reach team from NHS

• A web based app that records mental and physical health observations within an inpatient setting, proposed by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust

• Fundraising Support App for young volunteers (proposed by the Project Trust Charity)

• An app for buddying system between university applicants and current students: proposed by a recent graduate (will be implemented if enough developers were present on the day)
