one of the main objectives of the bauhaus was to unify art, craft, and technology.

the machine was considered a positive element, and therefore industrial and product design were important components.




Gropius called for a reform in artistic process, rather than a new style. He said that art cannot really be taught, so he declared that art should be led back to its fundament and prerequisite in handicraft, where it is possible to learn how to handle materials
