What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

During the construction of my magazine pages I have used a variety of different programs and technologies that I was previously unfamiliar with, this not only allowed me to learn more

about the technologies themselves but ways of being able to add individuality to my work, some

of the programs I have used during this production time have been serif photo plus, serif

page plus, Microsoft PowerPoint, Blogger, Photoshop, paint and slide share. At first I wasn’t very familiar with the programs and found it hard to understand therefore the quality of my work was poor average however after practicing and with a little help I learnt how to go about making changes and adjustments to my work improving

the quality of my work tremendously.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have

learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Since the preliminary task where I was not very comfortable and familiar with using programs such as page plus and phtoplus therefore the quality of the editing of photos and layout are largely different to the music magazine. I also learnt more about composition and text effects. Other things such as my consideration for the target audience and how small things such as the effects of the image and the text used in the cover make a large difference. Compared to my preliminary task I feel that my music magazine examples are a lot more professional, this may be because I had more depth in knowledge about the conventions of a magazine such as a recognizable logo and a more effective use of house colours. The difference in quality and detail between both of the contents pages is the largest this is because of not only the layout of the information itself but in the school magazine where the pictures where used as a background the music magazine sets them out using different effects.
