Question 6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? While making my magazine I learnt how to use lots of different technologies. firstly i used things like word and photoshop to do my prelim task, i have used these before so i didn't find it too difficult, i did learn how to use other tools that i haven't used before though, for example using the tools to crop my images. i learn a lot about the more complex tools and how to use the basic ones more effectively than i was, this helped me make my work have a more professional look to it. One piece of software i found hard to work was indesign, i found it hard to do the simplest things like crop an image, i think i was too use to photoshop, but with help and guidance from my teaches i found it easier to work out how to use the tools and after lots of practise i was able too use indesign quite comfortably. To upload my work i use blogger which i found very complicated to use at first as you need to convert then in slide share, but due to the fact i used my mac i have to change them from mac setting before hand so it has taken a long time getting use to that as well. But once shown how to use all these websites i have picked it up and now know how to get my way around very easily. severe monkey was another one i struggled with getting the hang of, making the survey was quite straight forward but looking at my results was hard, as it was quite confusing at first as I'm not use to collecting data.

Question 6 - What have you learnt about

technologies from the process of constructingthis product?

While making my magazine I learnt how to use lots of different technologies.firstly i used things like word and photoshop to do my prelim task, i have used these be-fore so i didn't find it too difficult, i did learn how to use other tools that i haven't used before though, for example using the tools

to crop my images. i learn a lot about the more complex tools and how to use the basic ones more effectively than i was, this helped me make my work have a more professional look to it.

For my planning i used mostly word or power point, i have used these plenty of times before so i had a good understanding of how the worked already. i was able to do more or less everything i needed to and the things i was finding hard once ex-plained to me i found them easy to use. i learn mainly how to playthings out and make then look professional. One thing i found very hard was using excel to create my flat plan, i don't think i had used this before so everything was new to me, to be-gin with i found it extremely difficult as i didn't understand anything but eventually i learnt the tools and how to add cells for example i was able to complete my flat plan quite easily.

7.Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression form it to the full prod-

uct?

Before making my product i did lots of research in to other magazines to look at the styles and what was in theirs to give me inspiration for my own.Firstly i looked at the people and models in the magazines, at their ages, how the dressed what the looked like and how the photos where taken for example candid photos or live photos. when actually taking the photos of the model i had an idea of the sort of look i was needing for my style

of magazine so we just took loads of different photos doing different poses until we got some we thought would work. I also did this all when making my masthead, i looked at lots of differ-ent magazines, and looked t the styles and made mine fit the style of my magazine. For the first photos i used a normal camera and took it just in the hall-way on a cream coloured wall, i didn't think too much about what i wanted it too look like, whereas with my photos for my magazine, i re-ally thought about the look i wanted to go for, i shot these in a studio so i could control the lighting, and a pure which back ground so it was easy when it came to edit.

I also learnt about the poses which would work and what looks more professional. i also learnt about adding better fonts from dafont.com making it look more realistic as a magazine.

When you look at both magazines your can really tell how much i have learn and what a difference this has made to my final out-come.
