What is Segregation of Duties?

Configuration

In this section we’ll see how to configure Segregation of Duties to identify conflicts


Navigate to Administration / System Administration / System Administration Controls / Configure System Settings

Enforce Segregation of Duties


Under Corporate Settings, check Enforce Segregation of Duties Rules

Click Save

Navigate to Administration / Security / Segregation of Duties

Segregation of Duties Menu


Use this screen to define application Conflict Types

Give the Conflict Type a name and description

Conflicting applications will display below once assigned

Manage Conflict Types


Select two applications that conflict with each other

Once selected, assign a Conflict Type to the record

Designate the Conflict as Active or Inactive

Manage Application Conflicts


Uses the rules that have been set to identify: User rights issues with conflicting applications User group rights issues with conflicting applications

Costpoint will modify rights so there is no longer a conflict

Identify Conflicts


After you run Identify Segregation of Duties, new Application Rights are created to resolve the issue!
