Hot Fix Summary Lists
Hot Fix Summary lists break down all the newly released versions of functions by the functional domain
Only the latest version of each function is listed
The list is in a table format and provides the following information:
Hot Fix Updated: The date the Hot Fix was either created or last updated. The most recent hot fixes will be at the top of the list
Deploy Link: A link to the download page with details for the hot fix
Module: The function group beneath the Domain level (People/Payroll)
Function Name: Function program name
Function: Function screen title
You can subscribe to each domain listing page to be notified when the page is updated (meaning that a new Hot fix has been released)

The Hot Fix Summary List index page for Costpoint 7.0 is Knowledge Base article # 68186
The index page contains a table with links to each of the functional domain pages
Advantage of breaking down by functional domain is that not all customers use all functional domains
Do not subscribe to this main index page; open each of the functional domain pages and subscribe

General Best Practices
Stay up to date on the major release versions
Configure email notifications/subscribe to RSS feed in DSM for product release notifications
Setup and maintain a test environment where you can apply and test updates and upgrades
Make sure you have test copies of your Costpoint 7.0 transaction, admin and system databases
Create another set of Weblogic and Actuate servers so you can test updates/upgrades to Costpoint Web without touching the production environment
Identify critical functions and create test plans for each function
Establish a scheduled maintenance window
Copy hotfixlog.log to another directory
Take backups before applying updates

Check for Updates Already Applied
Costpoint 7.0 uses an application Hot Fix File numbering scheme to designate different versions of a given function
Ex. CP70_APRCK_001, CP70_APRCK_002, etc…
To check the application Hot Fix File version number for a specific function…
Login to Costpoint and open the screen for that function, then go to Help > About Costpoint
In the Open Applications table, check the Hot Fix File value for the application
If there is no value, it means no hot fix updates have been applied
While you’re in this screen, make note of the System Hot Fix File version as well

Hotfix Deployment - Overview
In Costpoint 7.0, hotfixes are packaged in .zip files and applied using the Deploy Hotfix function in DBWizard
This will automatically copy the application files where they need to go and apply any necessary patches and stored procedures to your database
Can apply multiple updates at the same time No need to check for pre-requisite updates and apply them individually,
all pre-requisites are bundled into each update Will not attempt to re-apply updates that have already been applied
(unless configured to do so)
