Making Relationships Work

Page 2: Like Glue 1

The quality of your life is all about the quality of your

relationships.

Page 3: Like Glue 1

People are often obnoxious, disappointing, irritating, rude and hard to

get along with.

Page 4: Like Glue 1

You are probably hard to get along with from

someone’s perspective!

Page 5: Like Glue 1

People skills can be learned.

Page 6: Like Glue 1

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound

more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. Philippians 1:9

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my

disciples, if you have correct theological beliefs.” John 13:34–35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my

disciples, if you attend church regularly.” John 13:34–35

I pour into you; you pour into me.

Page 12: Like Glue 1

Some people don’t pour back!

Page 13: Like Glue 1

I have to have to give.

Page 14: Like Glue 1

Loved people love.

Page 15: Like Glue 1

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If

you remain in me and I in you, you will bear

much fruit;

Page 16: Like Glue 1

apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not

remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown

away and withers;

Page 17: Like Glue 1

such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and

burned.

Page 18: Like Glue 1

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will

be done for you.

Page 19: Like Glue 1

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my

disciples. John 15:5–8

Page 20: Like Glue 1

As the Father has loved me, so have I

loved you. Now remain in my love.

Page 21: Like Glue 1

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love,

Page 22: Like Glue 1

In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands.

And His commands are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

Page 23: Like Glue 1

just as I have kept my Father’s commands and

remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and

that your joy may be complete.

Page 24: Like Glue 1

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved

you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s

life for one’s friends.

Page 25: Like Glue 1

You are my friends if you do what I command.

John 15:9–14

• Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4

1. Meet God in the morning

• Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Mark 1:35

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be

done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And

lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil
