No-Stress NetworkingBy Dan Centinello

Since over 85% of all

jobs are filled through

personal connections,

the value of

networking speaks for

itself. However, just

because networking

is an important skill

doesn't mean it's an

easy one.

If you're looking for

ways that you can

improve how you

network with other

professionals, take a

look at this list!

Don't RSVP to every cocktail reception or workshop in town. Instead, identify events that play

to your strengths or interests; for example, if you're looking for a mentor, attending a corporate

luncheon with industry leaders may be more important than the company happy hour.

Prioritize Events

Be AuthenticNetworking is all about forging genuine relationships, so don't just tell people what you think

they want to hear. Get to know people by talking honestly and openly about your work, your

aspirations, and so on while also asking questions on the same topics to the other person.

Follow Up

A relationship won't

last beyond your first

meeting if you don't

follow up. After you

meet someone and

get their contact

information, send them

an email or call them

to say how you

enjoyed meeting them,

and you can even try

to set up another

meeting where you

can develop that new

relationship further!
