Strategies1-Introduce self to patients during an encounter.
2 -Outline for the patient what will occur during the encounter.
3 -Demonstrate empathy or caring attitude so that the patient feels at ease.
4 -Discuss with the patients the amount time needed for the encounter.
5 -Discuss the expected outcome of the encounter.
6 -Use feedback strategies throughout the encounter to ensure patient understanding.

Interviewing Patients Tips for Good Patient Interviews
1-Greet the patient and introduce your self.
2-Direct the patient to the consultation area.
3 -Explain why you need to collect the information.
4 -Indicate how long the interview will last.
5-Pay attention to body language.
6-Ask open ended questions.
7 -Use active listening skills and demonstrate empathy.
8 -Ask the patient to restate any unclear information.
