When Tori and Jordan were going through the trunk in the attic, they found a number of puzzles and asked their grandma about them. She told them that her grandparents used to leave puzzles around the house for her mom and her uncle. Whoever could solve all the puzzles first could choose a chore that they did not have to do that day, such as washing the dishes or folding the laundry. Your great-grandmother loved to get out of chores, so she was very good at the puzzles.

Magic SquareTake the numbers 1 - 9 and place them in the squares so that each row, column and diagonal has the same sum.

Be prepared to discuss the strategies you used as you worked on the puzzle.

Find the sum of all the numbers from 1 - 9.

Since the total is 45, and the numbers have to be used in three rows with the same sum, each row must have a total of 15.
