Poster Re-think
My Thinking
After carefully reading the audience feedback on my film and the evaluation of my own film and ancillary tasks. I decided to remodel the poster so that is was more in line with the main product; the film ‘Static’. I considered the layout of my current poster and it’s style and decided that it was not artistically based enough and did not possess the flair and uniqueness of my film. I also noticed that my original poster did not possess enough of the conventions of a film poster. It had some of the conventions such as large central image, credits at the bottom, a full page background and large title but was missing some element such as a tag line and the memorable quality that some film posters possess.
My New Idea
Therefore I developed the idea of having my main image as an infinity mirror image of the bulb, inside a Polaroid with a tag line scribbled on in marker pen (or seeming that way) to give the poster a truly unique edge that would capture my audiences attention and would match the quality of my film. One poster that used this style was that of Memento. I liked this style and thought that what they created was very similar to what I was attempting to create and that they had executed it well.
