Overview

Dream of a place that would offer customers a sumptuous celebration of food, a place to experience all of the pleasures that cooking and eating can bring to the senses.Epicure- designed to evoke a turn of the century food department, with high ceiling fans spinning over a vast array of products that lined the high, white walls. We travel the world in search of handcrafted products and artisan foods, and imported these discoveries into our enchanting emporium. On display are a staggering variety of produce and foodstuffs, including many never previously sold in this country.

celebrating local specialties or collected from artisans in distant lands all focused on quality over fashion, can be purchased and taken straight away.

Augmenting the large selection of fine cakes, pastries and chocolates available from the central showcase, caviars & smoked salmons, breads & bakeries, coffees & teas, jams & preserves, wines & champagnes, herbs & spices, cookies & biscuits, and ready-made dishes are also available.

Design

Display CaseMade of fine inlaid woods, etched glass and artistically crafted copper; several banks of these blast-air refrigerated cases line the walls of the entrance. The presentation surface is built in at a 25-20 degree angle to better merchandise the product. To the left, nearest the kitchen, steaming food is kept hot and ready to enjoy inside what best can be described as a heated vending machine (automat of the 1950’s) with individual windows displaying each of the beautifully prepared dishes.

Interior Design & LightingThe cheerful tiled walls at the the entry to the market are offset by the larger, more subdued tile found on the walls behind each case and display counter. Mirrors are strategically placed to best use the natural light shining through the latticed windows. Each display area accented with light from its own set of directional pin spots ingeniously camouflaged inside a more traditional light fixture.

Ready MadeFreshly prepared and portioned meals, local products, terrines, soups and salads are among some of the products available in specially designed jars and tins.

Spices, Oils, & CondimentsBeautifully lit from behind, the dramatic colors and shapes of spices collected from around the world intrigue each passerby. Infused oils, mustards, chutneys, aged balsamic vinegars, and rare dried nuts.

Candies & JamsSeasonally rotating a selection of over 50 jams, compotes, fruit jellies, flower petal conserves, and honeys appease even the most specialized palate. Fruit pastes and crystallized exotics.

Coffee & TeasWe will offer more then 20 varieties of the world’s finest and most renowned whole bean coffee, each with its certificate of authenticity. Our Barista will offer a selection of freshly brewed coffee to-go or whole coffee beans and package beans for later savoring.Protected from the light, in their individual black glass silos, 25 available seasonal teas are presented to the guest in sample sized test tubes for consideration.

Wines, Spirits & ChampagnesA walk in wine Cave is the sole responsibility of the shop’s sommelier who not only assists the shoppers in selecting a perfect gift to celebrate a business success but also a bottle to accompany a simple informal dinner. Certain to be a hit among the residents of the adjacent tower.

Caviars & Smoked SalmonsAlthough some 20 varieties of caviar exist, only the finest Iranian Caviars in beautiful crystal vessels with mother of pearl service sets are also available. In addition Danish, Scottish and Norwegian smoked and cured salmons will be offered.

Breads, Pastries, & ChocolatesOffered is a choice of fabulous, beautifully presented sweet treats, displayed like the jewels they are. Elegant cakes, tempting pastries, and handmade chocolates fill the gleaming glass cases up front. Everything is house-made, from the signature cakes, breads, and pastries to the delicate candies. Guests will choose whether to go with the classic crème brûlée or something more decadent.

Richly colored but light and functional silk shirts, handsome trousers, and aprons further enhance this visually appealing venue.

Greeted by one of several hostesses, you are either directed to the specialty you seek or to one of the tables just beyond. (Should consider the ability of combining the cashier function with that of hostess.)

Technology requirements: For call-in orders the back service area should include a telephone sales desk with micros and computer. Gift ribbon machine and applicable software to allow staff to personalize package wrapping.

POS: Two cashiers. POS stations will be required at the counter and/or at the hostess stand. An additional machine will be required for the TSA.

Display counters: These should be manufactured with the specific product which is intended to be displayed in mind. Both temperature and lighting must be taken into account. The case should open from both front and back to facilitate cleaning and ensure an always immaculate presentation.

Specialty Cocktails/Beverages: Throughout the day, a selection of freshly brewed coffees and teas will be offered to-go style. In addition, boutique pre- packaged juices, waters, spirits and wines can be purchased.
