Common ResourcesListed below are the most common types of resource,

and can be uploaded directly to the VLE

(Please make sure that documents are clearly labeled, new folders can be created on the VLE to separate documents if needed)

Specialist SoftwareIn some departments you may be using specialist

software with the students to support your lessons.

The files that are created using these applications can also be uploaded to the VLE, However they may take

longer to up/download due to their larger file size

Prepare your documentsFirst decide which documents you wish to upload and rename your documents if needed. When uploading multiple documents to a single area of the VLE, it is easier to arrange them all into one folder in your my documents before you start uploading them.Visit the departmental workspace on the VLESelect the required document LibraryOn the left of your departmental workspace you should have a link to a folder called “Shared Documents” or your departments name e.g. “Science Documents”. The folders labeled “STAFF Only” are not accessible by students.Make a new folder if neededUsing the "new” button just under the title of the document library.Upload your documentsUsing the “upload” button just under the title of the document library. Select Single or Multiple and follow the upload wizard instructions.

VLE Resources / SoftwareIf you have ordered & received a CD or pack of resources that do not contain the common file types, you may not be able to upload them directly to the VLE yourself.
