Why encourage creativity at work?

The new economy demands it. Global competition and the fast pace of technology change have left many of us scrambling We’ve become much more of a thought-based economy than a widget based one-Now the economy is voracious for ideas and innovation. Yet it’s truly at the core of our most important type of productivity-creative problem solving. That is why some of the most innovative companies in tyhe world feature programs that give key employees the tme and space to think creatively. Google offers a 20%, 3M has a 15% program, and Gore and Associates (Gore-Tex) features times to explore new products. All three companies credit these programs as a source of their most successful products. It used to be people apprenticed their way up the ladder, eventually becoming the wise person in the trade. Not anymore...Need to keep searching for new ways to stay relevant. Those who want to be ahead of the curve need to be visionary. The tunnel vision model will stop production in their tracks.

Engagement and Retaining Great employees

Encouraging your employees to think creatively will help with engagement during meetings as well as ensure that ideas within your company. 300 Billion dollars are lost in US businesses due to disengaged workers who erode the foundations of many corporations. -Offering a creative space or special awards for employees who explore ideas that might be helpful for product line..The messageIs heard as creativity is valued. Even if they are speculative thinking it provides a forum for idea sharing and feedback.

Creative thinking is for everyone ,every job and everyday. Maybe someone might think that this creative process is not worth investing in --(ROI) Actually if your staff is engaged and happy that has real value to the bottom line...Great service, happy clients, and wonderful team work to create an outstanding solution.Creativity is for every business-It is about the ability to think work with what is available and identify and solve problems.

How to tap into a teams visual thinking process:

1. Listen for complex content used in a metaphor2. Reflect on how it flows within a system of products3. How can it be connected to other products4. Where can it be refined/upgraded 5. What are the main blocks for more production?
