Academic Advising is…
A partnership between student and advisor to discuss:• Course selection• Adjustment to college • Major and career choices • Academic “extras” such as research,
study abroad, and internships
Students meet with an advisor at least once each semester.

Workload
• Full-time is 12 or more credits
• International students must takeat least 12 credits
• 12-13 credits often wise for freshmen
• 15 credits per semester (on avg.) results in graduation in 4 years (8 semesters x 15 credits = 120 credits)
• Plan on studying 2-3 hours each week (or more) for each credit14
