Character Profiles and CastingDILEMMA – PLANNING TASK (A2 MEDIA STUDIES)

Character: Neil

He is the main character in the teaser trailer that will be seen through the majority of the trailer by the audience.

Casting: Connor will be playing this character because he knows most about how he wants to portray this character.

Appearance: The character will be 5 foot 9 an average person, has casual clothes on. Eye colour blue, hair colour brown and glasses.

Age: The age of the character will be 18 because the trailers audience will be aimed at this similar age. Lifestyle: Will be sociable with friends and family, which then will mean that his relationship with friends

and family will be affected by the dramatic events that will unfold. Neil will also be a curious character that often easily influenced.

Additions (by Connor) - Inner Presence: Neil’s inner attitude would change in the narrative of the film, and it would be likely for

both the before and after of this attitude change will be seen in the teaser trailer. I feel that when he is getting cocky in tampering with people’s lives in order to extend his own life, his attitude will change massively. He will have a lack of empathy for others. He will only go in search of what he wants because (a longer life) he thinks that life is unfair to give him this illness. Before this point, he would be content with life.

Character: The Devil

The third character the devil will have a small amount of appearance in the trailer but will have a large influence on how the storyline of the trailer pans out.

Casting: This character will be played by Jack because Jack will be doing the majority of the filming so is playing this small part.

Appearance: The character of the Devil will be 6 foot 3, an abnormal person. He will also have brown hair, brown eye colour. The character will also be well dressed and formal.

Age: The characters age won’t be known, because the devils age holds the mystery of having someone with an endless age.

Lifestyle: This character will be dramatic in what he says and emphasise on everything.

Character: Emma

The sixth character will be a friend of Neil’s partner; this character will have a small part during the trailer because the main focus is directed on Neil.

Appearance: This character will be 5 foot 7, black hair and brown eyes.

Age: This character will be 18 years of age because the other characters in the production are the same age so would me most appropriate in the production if everyone’s the same similar age.

Lifestyle: This character will have the lifestyle of friends in university with a sociable lifestyle surrounding this character. This character will also be loud and curious to events of her partner Neil’s actions.

Character: Chloe

This character will be the friend of Neil’s partner, she will have a small part during the production.

Appearance: This character will have brown hair, brown eyes and will also be 5 foot 7.

Age: This character will be 18 years old because he will be around the age group that the production will target in order to get them to watch our teaser trailer.

Lifestyle: This character will have a sociable lifestyle in university who will be a fun character.

Character: The Doctor

Profile: The second character will be the Doctor he has a small part during the teaser

trailer of giving news to the main character Neil. Casting: This character will be played by myself because I will be doing a large

proportion of the filming. Appearance: The character of the Doctor will be 6 foot 2, an average person

and in a Doctors uniform. Hair colour black, eye colour brown and glasses. Age: The age of the Doctor will be 28 this will be the age of the Doctor because

it will more realistic for the audience. Lifestyle: The character of the Doctor will be quiet mainly because he is the one

to deliver life changing news to the main character. The Doctor will also be slow with his approach on things.

Characters: Pedestrians

Pedestrian 1: Appearance: This character will be 6 foot 3, he will have brown eyes and hair. Age: The character will be 19 years of age. Casting: The person that will play this character will be Aaron Gemmell. Aaron will play this

character because he is available for the part and he fits the first ideas of the type of character that we started with.

Lifestyle: The character will have a lifestyle that isn’t known to the audience because he will have a short time in the production however the audience will know that he like the majority of the characters in this production.

Pedestrian 2: This character will be a civilian who will have the role of being attacked by the character

Neil. Casting: Robert Henderson will play this character because he had agreed that he had time

to play this character in the production. Appearance: The character will be 5 foot 7 with blonde hair and a normal every day

person. He will be in normal everyday clothes casual. Age: This character will have the age of 18 because this is a relatable age to our audience. Lifestyle: This character will have a mainly unknown lifestyle to the audience because he

wont be seen the majority of the time.
