1. Notice the two vertical menus on the left-hand side. What are they for, and where do they take you?

2. Find the Help icon at the bottom of the Canvas menu. Click and try a few of the options (just halfway for now).

3. Click on Account in the Canvas menu. (Hint: You’ll come back here later)

4. Find your course enrollments (“Courses”) in the Canvas menu. What are they? Click “All courses” and star your favorites so they appear in your quick menu.

5. Find your sandbox site in Courses (“SBX” and your Yale NetID) and open it in a new browser tab

6. Go to Files in your sandbox site and add a few folders and subfolders.

If you’re on your own computer, try uploading one or more files (drag-and-drop is easy!).

7. Add an Assignment in your sandbox site. Be sure to give it a name and a due date.

8. Go to the Syllabus tool in your sandbox site and notice the 2-part structure. What do you see on the bottom?

Now let’s contemplate…what’s the difference between a syllabus and a Syllabus?

9. Click on the Grades link in your course menu. Do you see your assignment there?
