in a supportive and caring
learning environment
where each child is encour-
aged to strive for academic
excellence and grow in
faith, knowledge, and love.

observe all that I have com-
manded you.”

HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL
August 28, 2017
Dear parents,
We’ve had an exceptional week at Holy Family Catholic School! On Monday, our ex-
citement over the solar eclipse could not be contained, as our students saw history in
the making. I was delighted to see so many parents at our Back to School Night and I’m
grateful to all our teachers for making it a fulfilling experience for our families. Their
commitment to our students is only outweighed by their love for them. Of course,
none of it could be possible without all of you; the wonderful families who are always
so willing to support their children in every conceivable way!
I would like to congratulate the newest members of our National Junior Honor Society:
Blaisé Corcia, Sophie Crant, Kathryn Dzambo, Robert Goulet, Joseph Gundrum, Ava
Maphis, Francesca Madglia, Meredith O’Mal-
ley, Valeria Quintero, Andrea Sia, Payton Wal-
pole, and Andrea Zavaleta-Vega. Their hard
work, dedication to their students, and their
outreach to the community is commendable.
Top academics is one of the many reasons
why I’m so proud of our school. The founda-
tion of faith and our mission to spread the
Gospel of the Lord is what makes us excep-
tional! This year will mark the 50th Anniver-
sary of the Eucharist. The Jubilee Year will be celebrated the First Sunday of Advent, De-
cember 3, 2017 through the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe,
November 25, 2018.
This newsletter will periodically highlight miracles, saints, and places where the actual
presence of the Eucharist is found. Please see our special feature page by HFCS, par-
ent, Denise Galloway. I pray that every HFCS family will make it a priority to celebrate
the Eucharist every week.
Please remember that there is no school
on Friday, September 1, 2017
through Monday, September 4,
2017. Enjoy the long weekend to
spend time with your families. I
will see you on Tuesday, Septem-
ber 5th ready for a new exciting
week.
God bless, Sister Dorothy Sayers,
M.P.F.

Eucharistic Miracles: 50th Jubilee
Year of the Diocese of Orlando
May we fully embrace the crux of our faith - the daily
miracle that takes place each day in our lives ~ right
in our Holy Family Catholic Church at Consecration
~ the Transubstantiation of the bread and wine into
the Body and Blood of Christ!
Thank you Bishop Noonan for giving us a year to re-
focus our hearts on the true joy and sustenance of
our faith - the Eucharist! Please click on the link at
the left to see Bishop Noonan’s Proclamation! We
hope you enjoy the Eucharistic Miracles presented
every two weeks here in our newsletter
"The culmination of the Mass is not the consecration, but Communion.” ~ St. Maximilian Kolbe
One of the earliest Eucharistic Miracles of the Catholic
Church took place in the 8th century A.D. in Lanciano, Italy.
As a divine response to a Basilian monk's doubt about Je-
sus' Real Presence in the Eucharist.
In the middle of saying Mass, he said the words of consecration
(“This is my body,” “This is my blood) and saw the bread and wine trans-
form into real human flesh and blood. The blood coagulated into five
globules (later believed to be representative of the five wounds of
Christ). Soon after, the local archbishop launched an investigation, and
the Church approved the miracle.
The flesh is still preserved to this day. Professor
of anatomy, Odoardo Linoli, conducted a scientific analysis of the flesh
in 1971 and concluded that the Flesh was cardiac tissue, the Blood
appeared to be fresh Blood (as opposed to blood that was 1200 years
old), and there was no trace of preservatives. The parts seen in the
Flesh comprise all the parts of a human heart: the myocardium, the
endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart.
Only Jesus would help us combat our doubts by going to such
lengths as to preserve His Blood and Body for over 1700 years as if it
was just shed! Thank you Jesus!
