What is CAD?Computer Aided Design is the use of a computer to assist in the process of designing a part, circuit, building, etc.
We use CAD to make a Model
A Model is a visual, mathematical or 3D representation in detail of an object or design, often smaller than the original.
They are used to test ideas, make changes to a design, and to learn more about what
would happen to a similar, real object.
You can then build a Prototype
A Prototype is a full-scale working model used to test a design concept by making
actual observations and necessary adjustments.
This is what you will see when you open Inventor. Now look at the ribbon running
across the top of the screen. The Ribbon is a palette that displays buttons
and controls used for both 2D drawing and 3D modeling and viewing.
Clicking the New Icon will start the project.

From this box “Standard.ipt”
is chosen.
Left clicking the “Create” button loads
the new drawing.
Clicking on the paper and pencil and making sure it is a 2D sketch, not a 3D sketch, will allow you to draw.
3D Indicator Shows direction of X, Y, and Z coordinates. Red represents X, Green represents Y Blue represents Z directions

The surface on which
2D profiles can be

Isometric View- A drawing in which all three drawing axes
form equal angles of 120 degrees with
the plane of projection.
