Monday 27th
April 2015 Edition 12 Week 2 Term 4
Today I am heading back to hospital for what is hoped to
be the final operation on my ankle. Ms McConnell will be
in charge while I am absent. I am hoping to return to
school by Thursday this week.
I am really proud to highlight wonderful student who has
come up with a
brilliant idea to raise
money for our local
hospital. Tikirah
Douglas is going to
shave her head on
the 3rd
September in
our school hall to
raise money for the
hospital.
She has been actively promoting this within the community
and has a range of fundraising ideas to support the cause.
Tikirah’s pop died from cancer last year. While he lived in
Queensland, he became a
patient of Tumut Hospital
when visited our town before
his death.
This week Tikirah will be
selling wrist bands at the
school office to raise money
for the hospital. The bands
are $5 each and will be on
sale each morning and at
recess.
OPERATION ART
Many Franklin students excel in the visual arts. ‘Operation
Art’ allows a Franklin student
to have artwork exhibited
through a major exhibition
which receives widespread
publicity and recognition.
Submitted artworks are
designed to contribute to a
happy environment and relieve
anxiety for children during
hospitalisation.
Year 2 student, Alyse
Waterman artwork, entitled
‘My Best Friend’, is Franklin’s
2015 nomination.
